"During our visit to this restaurant, which was recommended by friends in town, we were thoroughly impressed. The appetizers and main courses were outstanding, and the desserts were exceptional. The drinks were also delicious. The service was top-notch. We particularly enjoyed the elk tenderloin recommended to us for dinner. Overall, we would give a perfect 5 out of 5 rating for the food, service, and atmosphere."

"This is a perfect little place for lunch, ice cream or fudge. They recently remodeled and the layout is a lot better. There is outdoor seating with umbrellas for a hot day. We had a chicken salad sandwich which got a double thumbs up from my guest, and I had the Club which was also very good. Lots of fresh ingredients. Value is very good at around $25 for the two of us, with drinks. I would suggest going with real Swiss cheese rather than pastuerized slices which ruined a ham and Swiss at a later date. I also think you should have more than wheat and croissants for bread choices."

"Since we were celebrating but also trying to stick to our diet, my wife and I decided to share a 10-ounce steak, requesting it to be cooked rare. However, when we received the oddly shaped, half-inch-thick steak, it was cooked more towards medium. Although cooking a thin steak rare can be tricky, it is certainly possible. We tried it but ended up sending it back. The second attempt was slightly better but still not quite right—a strange cut of beef with multiple small muscles and gristle, resembling a shoulder chop. It didn't have any noticeable Southwest flavor, and we found it pretty disappointing in both size and quality considering the price. The usual rice and black beans were bland and unremarkable. Mike kindly brought us Tres Leches cake to make up for the steak, which was rich and tasty, though it’s not really my preferred dessert. In summary, I would recommend ordering their traditional Mexican dishes like Chicken Mole rather than the steak, which was quite lackluster. My wife and I have decided to find another place for our celebratory dinner tomorrow."

"This is a small town breakfast/lunch cafe. It's been a staple of Monument, Colorado for decades, changing names with new owners as the old ones retire. The food is solid working people's meals, nothing fancy, meant to power folks through cold days, which are common at 7200'. The service is top notch for a place that's always swamped in the mornings. The wait and cooking staff work really hard, and we tip accordingly. Also popular with the retired community (mostly military) in nearby Woodmoor subdivision. The atmosphere is simple, not terribly comfortable wooden chairs, the bar stools are padded but also not comfortable. The booths are more comfortable. I've eaten here many times over the last 30 years. Their menu is good, they do cater to both the carnivores and the few vegetarians in the area. I don't think they serve alcohol, but their coffee is pretty good."

"First trip here. The food was phenomenal!Got the lavender vanilla latte with almond milk, the berries and creme crepe, and eggs over medium. Lavender is one of the most easily ruined flavors. If brewed incorrectly it tastes soapy, but this latte was brewed perfectly. The eggs were hot, fresh, and crispy. And the crepe ... . It's hard to enjoy when you just want to inhale. As for the service, very friendly. I went on a Monday during their high traffic. It's a small operation, so you have to be patient. But for the laid back slow pace atmosphere that I like for a near noon breakfast, it was perfect!"
