"Rustico Alexandria is normally a pleasant place to eat and enjoy craft beer. But on this particular occasion it was slammed with customers, perhaps due to the Cajun food special that evening. As a result, service was way below par. I had to flag down a server to get eating utensils, then another to get napkins. Same thing to get a beer. The Cajun food special one menu item was OK but not great. (Having lived in New Orleans for several years, I had expectations that were perhaps too high. The beers on offer were acutely disappointing 7 IPAs and a coffee stout . Apparently that 's all the brewery knows how to make. I am indifferent to IPA 's a fad style that will hopefully fade away soon. So I had to order off the restaurant 's regular beer menu, which is extensive and wonderful, and alone worth a visit. My overall takeaway from the evening is that the restaurant should train its staff better on surge procedures for busy times. And in general not let the tail (the featured brewery wag the dog (the menu items ."

Reservation made for a Friday night, but when we arrived, there was no table available. Sat at the bar. Wife's steak came out undercooked and rare. Soda was flat, chicken sandwich was cold and tasteless. Waiter was inattentive. Good pizza though.
