"This was one of the best Indian restaurants that I have ever dined in. Truly authentic! The spices welcome you as soon as you step in the front door. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. It is more of a local establishment, so you are not rushed or surrounded by tourists. I wanted to try their drinks, as they looked wonderful, but was on medication at the time and couldn't have alcohol. A wonderful experience. Can't wait to come back!"

My husband and I were for the first time on Friday 24th. March here. We chose the $45 pre-theater menu. The service was excellent, especially our server Raj. The food was delicious and the portions very generous. We will definitely return. View menu

I had heard many excellent things about Saar and it truly exceeded my expectations. I was impressed by the atmosphere and the exceptional service. The food was delicious and authentic, with the lamb chops being my favorite dish. They were cooked perfectly!

After a show, we chose Indian food as we both love it. The restaurant has a large ambience and was not even loud. The waiter was attentive and very helpful. The food was so delicious and we tried a few things we never had. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Excellent Goan shrimps and mushroom appetizer. Lamb kofta Curry was great. Naan was very good and the simple white rice was great. My husband liked the chicken corma, but I found it too bland. Service was excellent and wine list was quite good (unusual for an Indian restaurant in our experience). All in all excellent. View menu

Superbly proximate to Theatres Times Square, this roomy, tranquil, well run establishment was welcoming, efficiently served delicious food comfortable service to our pre-show party of three. Garlic Naan, Butter chicken, Paneer all excellent. Would certainly visit again and recommend vociferously to others. Thank you for the gracious hospitality.

The food was very good and we were surprised and happy to find this gem of a restaurant in the Theater District. We had the Pre- Theater dinner with some add-ons. The portions were very generous and the food was very tasty. We were surprised to have good Indian food in such a touristy neighborhood of NYC. Would definitely go back when going to see a Broadway show.

"We went to Bread N Wine on a early Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were greeted and seated by the servers who were attentive. The food was okay the bread was really soft and fresh. My partner got the French Lentil Soup, Spinach and Tomato Egg Bake andI got the French onion soup, egg omelette with spicy tomato avocado and onions. I wasn 't happy with my omelette because thespicy just meant it was covered in hot sauce within. For beverages, we got chai lattes (we later found out it wasn 't tea basedbut rather coffee) and we had the option of oat milk, almond milk or regular milk. In terms of our overall experience we feltby the end too many things were steering the experience south; the worst was when we were accused of using counterfeit money topay for the tip. There was no special marker used to prove that the money was counterfeit or technology to back up this claim. That experience alone left a bad taste in our mouth as we left embarrassed by that claim, kind of shook from that, we stilladded the tip to our credit card 18%. As we walked out and talked about how weird that was, the owner of the business nextdoor overheard us and asked to see the $20 bill he showed us that our money was real and validated what we knew, that themoney wasn 't counterfeit. When we went back into Bread N Wine to discuss this there was no apology, just well, it felt thatway , shrug. It left a terrible feeling. We would not go back after that, this is not how you treat customers from start tofinish, hence the 2 star review."
