"Amazing location and great style. We have stayed at this property 3 summers in a row essentially since they opened (we were literally the first guests in one of their family suites). We keep coming back because of the great location and style/feel of the property we love the courtyard with the lawn games and the vibe and style of the property. We wish there was SOME acknowledgement of our loyalty (even just a welcome back would be nice. We also booked two back to back single night stays (which was less expensive for some reason than a 2 night stay). We made sure to let them know about this before we arrived via phone and then again upon check in. We were assured that it would be noted in our room reservation so we wouldn 't have to check in and then check out. Nonetheless, we got a call with attitude after the first night asking why all of our belongings remained in the room after check out. When we reminded them that we were staying another night they apologized and noted it hadn 't been in the records. Frustrating since we had been assured otherwise and made great efforts to remind everyone AND we have been loyal guests for several years."

Our room was very lovely and large with a private balcony/porch where we enjoyed afternoon visits. Very well updated baths but in keeping with mid-century feel. We loved every bit of our stay! Downtown Highlands and hiking are just minutes away.

The lodge was wonderful. We enjoyed the weather, the lawn area and the restaurant. I have nothing to complain about. We found the location to be perfect to get to the location we were working and to shopping and restaurants in both Highlands and Cashiers.

We discovered that maid service was only available upon request, which caught us off guard. The staff was indifferent; they weren't rude, but they also lacked enthusiasm. Additionally, the absence of breakfast was inconvenient, especially given the remote location.

A fantastic getaway! The restaurant and bar were excellent. It was wonderful to enjoy a delicious meal, relax under the stars with after-dinner cocktails, and then just take a short stroll back to our room. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our stay. View menu

Highly disappointed with this hotel. From the friendliness and professionalism of the staff and management to the cleanliness and size of the hotel room and finally to the unkept lawn and surroundings (tennis courts are actually being used as a parking lot! Definitely not a $400 per night experience (that was for the cheapest room).

This could have been a horrible experience turned around by great staff. Special shout out to Trinity for being amazing. First this place is more like a motel so definitely does not justify the price. I checked into a room on level 1 which appeared damp including the sheets. The housekeeping staff was quick to replace the sheets but the room in general had a smell which she couldn’t do anything about. Come Trinity she checked me into a level 2 room which was perfect. All rooms look updated which is a plus. Their Steakhouse is definitely worth a visit great good, great service!

I needed a getaway for two nights to get some work done. I'm glad I spotted the Skyline Lodge. This inn is an updated motor lodge up in the mountains near Highlands (about a 10 minute drive away. One of the best features is the pavilion a wide covered, open air structure. I worked there each day. Although it rained some of the time, I was sheltered. Nice and cool. The Oak Steakhouse was great. Very good service and food. This is definitely a place the local folks come to for fine dining. I would have liked included full service breakfast as opposed to picking up coffee and a pastry in the lobby. View menu

The only downside to our stay was the room. We were in room 118, which felt more like a basement-level hotel room. While it had windows and a nice balcony, the room was quite damp and unfortunately had some flies. It definitely needed a dehumidifier. Aside from that, it was comfortable and clean, with a very nice bathroom. However, an additional lamp and a vanity mirror above the desk would have been helpful. If you have difficulty navigating uneven ground or require a walking aid, I highly recommend requesting an upper-level room. In the wing we were in, getting around felt like a mountain trek! Overall, I’m unlikely to stay here again.

The check in girl had us lugging our luggage to two different rooms in two different buildings before we got to the correct one. They did help us carry it. Recently redone, they did a good job of keeping the feel of the place. The shower was awful and the second handheld wand that worked well was mounted waist high. Beds very comfortable and they had a nice handheld steamer in the room which we used. Unfortunately, they don’t put the pet friendly rooms in the separate building and our neighbors left their dogs alone in the room evening and morning, and they woke us up earlier than we would have liked. I complained at checkout and got the idea that the rules say not to leave the dogs in the r...

"This place really turned out to be a great surprise. My fiance and I were just spending a single night in Highlands and came to Wolfgang 's just by chance. Neither one of us were all that hungry, but that changed once we tasted our first appetizer. We sat at the little, 5 person bar, and had the full attention of the bartender that night, Lexi. Now let me stop here for a moment to recognize greatness. Lexi was top notch. Her drinks were perfect. The flavor profile in her personal mixes was a delight. She was very social and all in all really added a great vibe to our night. So, thank you Lexi!! We started out with their escargot appetizer. It was so delicious, we couldn 't stop there. Next up, I can 't remember the name, but it was a mix of German foods. Sausages, potatoes, two kinds of sauerkraut, and schnitzel. It was phenomenal. Everything was so flavorful. So we had to try a little more. Next up, the lamb chop trio. Cooked to tender perfection. You can 't miss on this one. I 'm sad to say that we were actually getting full at this point and could not try any more food. The good news, I know where we will be dining the next time we are in Highlands. Forgot to mention, the chef came out a few times just to see how everyone was enjoying the food. Kudos to you chef. Thank you for the time to come and check on your work!! After I posted this, I realized I failed to compliment all the staff. Every one of the wait staff that came to the bar to get drinks for tables were all very kind and engaging. I 'm really impressed by this whole place."

"I don't give 5 reviews often and not usually for a restaurant that we haven't been back to multiple times and gotten consistently outstanding food and service. However, our recent meal at Midpoint absolutely wowed us and I can't possibly give it anything less. We made early reservations for Saturday night and asked to be seated outside on their rooftop deck overlooking Main St. We were given our choice of 2 tops and as the sun went down and the breeze picked up, the staff distributed blankets and wraps to all the tables. Very cozy and charming. Immediately after we were seated, we were brought an amuse bouche: two small spoons of shrimp ceviche. It was delicate and zingy and very refreshing. Then we placed our order for the evening. Drinks: Me dirty Tito's martini with blue cheese olives. Excellent and icy cold. Him Jameson and soda with a lemon twist. He said it was the best mixed drink he's had. Food: Bang Bang Shrimp 6 crisply fried shrimp drizzled (not soaked) in a spicy bang bang sauce and served over arugula. Mussels in creamy white wine sauce. The mussels were nicely cooked and I could have eaten the sauce with a spoon. Caesar Salad to share A whole head of romaine drizzled with housemade Caesar dressing. Amazing. Churrasco Steak (him) skirt steak, chimichurri, black beans, rice, and fried plantains. He said that the beans were maybe the best thing on the plate and the plantains were perfectly tender and slightly sweet. Wild Mushroom Ravioli (me) a dozen ravioli stuffed with shitake mushrooms and served in a sherry wine butter sauce. Served with asparagus. Absolutely fantastic. The browned butter garlic sauce was swirled with sherry and it was just rich and decadent. Dessert: Boletus Mushroom sticking with the mushroom theme, we had the gorgeous mushroom dessert made of short crust, confit, mascarpone mouse, dark chocolate daquoise, chocolate mousse, and so much more. It tasted even better than it looked! Dark Roast Martini to share Espresso liqueur, Amarula, orange bitters, vodka, and coffee. Served with 3 coffee beans. So good! It was a ton of food and we lingered for over 2 hours, enjoying the food and the atmosphere. Our server, Zac, was fantastic. Friendly, personable, incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, chatted with us and made suggestions for our next trip to the Highlands area. We even talked single malt Scotch with him, which was fun. It was an amazing dinner in a lovely location with fantastic service. Well worth every star."
