They're really doing something unique in SF, with a heavily New Nordic-inspired menu (down to the fermentation program). My meal was remarkably executed at a consistently high level. Attentive in every regard. Wine pairing, though expensive, was worth the upcharge. The wine program is fantastic. To grossly generalize, I would say that the kitchen's current menu prioritizes texture over taste in a pleasing way. The food was more interesting than savory, more evocative than sublime. Portions and pacing were on point. The personalized menus (with wine pairings noted! were a nice touch. Sons Daughters was an exquisite tasting experience full of excitement and wonder, while somehow still maintaining an elevated familial friendly feel throughout the entirety of the experience. From the servers and chefs stopping by the table to explain and highlight all the sustainable ingredient choices, to the non-alcoholic pairings that were meticulously chosen in partnership with local orchards to perfectly compliment the courses, every last detail mattered. And yet, I could not help but smile the entire time with my wife celebrating our anniversary at this venue. And that is what this felt like. An unforgettable anniversary dinner. I went to Sons Daughters with my wife for our wedding anniversary. I highly recommend this place and it was good value relative to money spent for the amount of food we had and the incredible wine paring that went with our meals. Everyone was knowledgeable with the ingredients and method used to cook the food. Education and being informed was a part of the overall experience. It’s a cozy restaurants with only 10 tables inside. Felt like I was at a darkened lounge atmosphere wise and the windows facing the street are see through from the inside and reflective on the outside. The complete tasting menu was scrumptious and attractively plated; each course was matched with the perfect beverage pairing. The hostess and servers were incredibly attentive, ensuring that our every need was met in a highly professional and carefully coordinated manner.
