"My wife and I stopped by for a quick dinner. She ordered a burger, and I went with the chicken-fried steak. When the waitress brought my plate, I noticed a clear liquid spilling over the edge. The red potatoes were drenched in an excessive amount of raw garlic, and that liquid was garlic juice. Additionally, the potatoes were heavily seasoned with dill and weren’t cooked properly. The meat lacked flavor, aside from the garlic juice. I was very hungry and tried to focus on the meat, but I couldn't finish it. The seasoned vegetables were also loaded with garlic and sitting in a pool of sausage gravy. Ultimately, I gave up on trying to eat it. On the other hand, my wife's burger was perfectly fine."

We have dined at Spiffy's numerous times and consistently find the food to be excellent. We drive down from Tacoma to meet friends who come up from Portland. The staff is always friendly and takes great care of us. I noticed that you mentioned they don't accept reservations, but that's not the case – they do take reservations. We always make a reservation since Spiffy's can get quite busy at times. View menu

"Everything we tried was fantastic! The portion sizes were generous, and the food arrived piping hot. It was all delicious, and I would definitely recommend this place! We ordered the coconut shrimp roll with an extra side of shrimp. The chicken teriyaki and sweet and sour chicken were plenty to share, and they came with a side salad. "I really have no clue why this place has such great reviews. Others either have not had good Mexican food before and think this is great, or they have zero clue on what decent food taste like. Everything was bland. I have never in my life had a Chicken Fajita with zero seasoning, including no salt, but does include carrots, zucchini and mushrooms. Who has ever been to Mexico and had those with a Fajita? Beyond that, no salad, cheese, salsa, sourcream or guac. There was like a Provolone cheese melted into the bland chicken though, made it extra rubbery...if you like that. Chips and Salsa were a charge, and it was a green tasteless salsa. Any salsa or guac you do want, comes in the form of a bottle to squeeze out said salsa and guac. Both were disgusting. The place felt dirty, the bathroom was awful and they charge WAY too much. We had 2 meals and 2 Mexican cokes...$76. We pay less at much nicer places WITH alcohol. Basically, do not recommend, will not go back again, everything was bland, tasteless and chewy. Enjoy though if that 's your thing."

"Truly loved this place. We really enjoyed our experience at Flood Valley Brewing! We were kindly welcomed in by the bartender, Tim. He was awesome!! Knowledgeable about the drink selection along with the food they have. We had a couple of tasters and landed on a cider and a Juicy IPA. They had plenty of good options to choose from. We took a seat outside and looked over the menu... wow. Burgers galore! It was hard to choose because there were so many delicious options. We tried the Garlic Parmesean Hash Puppies for our appetizer. They were awesome, crispy and gooey on the inside. Paired with a creamy aioli, perfect match. For the burgers, we went with the Chipotle and the Peanut Butter Burger. Likely some of the best burgers we've had. The meat was so good. They were jam packed with flavor with bacon, sauce, serrano peppers, pretzel buns and perfectly cooked tots. You really can't go wrong. Definitely recommend this spot for good service, great burgers and nice drinks."

"Mackinaws, although it is not the classiest restaurant you will visit, it is as close as you will get to fine dining between Olympia and Vancouver (Wa). As a local who visits often, the consistency of the dishes served has always been above standard, in quality, preparation, presentation, and value. Those who complain about the price must not get out much, Mackinaws is very reasonable for the product they are offering. This is not Denny's. For those who complain about the service, I understand. In their defense, this is not the most prosperous location in the state and I imagine that it is almost impossible to find skilled culinary labor in his market. Overall I applaud Chef Kahn for her tenacity against all the hurdles she has faced. I truly appreciate her efforts to bring an upscale dining option to the area and I certainly hope Mackinaws is around far into the future! Please help support a small business owner who is trying to improve on our limited choice of quality local dinning establishments."
