"Sup Jus is a new restaurant that still has some issues to work out. The prices feel high considering the quality and portion sizes. I spent $21 on a small soup, a small sandwich, and a 10oz pressed juice. The soups were the highlight, earning 4/5 stars—I tried four different options and all were delicious. However, the sandwich was disappointing, scoring just 1/5 stars. I ordered the Hot Brisket, which didn’t taste like any brisket I’ve had before and seemed not to be brisket at all. It was premade and reheated, with the top bread slice becoming hard and overly toasted, making it tough to bite and uncomfortable to eat, while the bottom was soggy and moist. The pressed juice, Power Greens, received 3/5 stars; it was almost room temperature when served and lacked flavor, needing more lemon or ginger. Plus, it wasn’t properly filtered, leaving many bits in the juice, and $6 felt steep for a 10oz portion of this quality. Overall, I give Sup Jus 2/5 stars but round up to 3/5 because they’re clearly still refining their menu. I plan to return in a couple of months to see if improvements have been made, as I like the concept and hope it gets better."

Great soups! I tried the chicken sausage gumbo, the Thai chicken curry, and the tomato basil. All were delicious. Also had the grilled turkey pastrami and cheese sandwich, which was perfect for dipping, and the Power Red fresh juice. Loved it all. Can'twait to go back.

Summary: new business that still needs to work out the kinks. Overpriced given the quality and potion sizes. Expensive. Cost me $21 for a small soup, small sandwich, and a 10oz pressed juice. Soup: 4/5 stars. I tried four different soups and they were alltasty! Sandwich: 1/5 stars. Got the Hot Brisket and it tastes nothing like any brisket I 've ever had. Pretty sure it 's notbrisket. Sandwich was premade and then heated. Tastes like it was made a few days ago. They need to rethink their heatingprocess too it left the top slice of bread very hard and over toasted (difficult to bite into and chew tore up the roof ofmy mouth because it was so hard) and the bottom slice was moist and soggy. "It is extremely rare that I write a review without actually visiting in person. My sister somehow got my hooked on this small, local sandwich chain. I had seen its various locations (Isla Vista, Santa Barbara 's Mesa and Goleta) and always wanted to check it out; yet leave it to my sister from out of town to introduce me to it. Twice she has ordered take-out sandwiches at lunch time for us. Their sandwich menu is nutso with 36 creations to choose from, including several that are vegetarian. Of course, the options are endless if you choose to build you own! I went with the #14 (a turkey BLT) and #2 (turkey and cheese) which are simply basic yet tasty. I have no idea what they do to their bread but is addicting. Slight crunch on the outside, yet soft to the squeeze and full of gummy flour flavor! All of the ingredients appear fresh and nothing special--which I appreciate when I want a deli sandwich. I love the fact that you can purchase your sandwich in a variety of sizes including a mini for if you need a snack to hold you over and not a full meal. I also think of children, those who are on a lower carb diet, who have had bariatric surgery, or are limiting portion sizes. I personally go for a small sandwich. However, if you want to go all out, choose the medium or family size. Even better, if you 're hosting a party, order a three to ten foot long sandwich (requires a day 's notice). I will be back to check out the actual place--third time 's a charm they say. I 've heard both their chicken salad and tuna salad are both delicious. That 's next up! P/S: According to Yelpers, they do not accept the Check-In Offer for a free soda with a sandwich purchase. They should really remove this from their Yelp page... Note: Only the Milpas location offers chicken sandwiches, burgers, french fries and chicken nuggets. Note squared: They charge more for credit card payments. Note cubed: If you want free entertainment, check out their Milpas website menus with adorable, phonetically spelled items. (gient vs giant, meetball vs meatball, and phylly vs philly)."
