"I have NEVER had worse service in a restaurant in my life. I 'm pretty laid back and chill and so are my friends, so it took A LOT to actually get my quiet and shy friend to start screaming at the manager. We came in during the middle of summer, when it was about 100+ degrees outside and we had just walked from the convention center here. First thing we ask the waitress is for water, lots of it, and for it to keep coming. We were to order sushi from the bar and anything else from her. She took our original order, brought us water with our soups and bolted before my friend could order something from the kitchen. The rest of the meal, she did not look at us once. We ran out of water in about a minute and despite waving at her, slurping our straws on the last few drips over and over and even yelling hey as she passed us on her way to the kitchen, she never once even gave us the time of day. The sushi rolls were good, but my friend never even got to order her food in the half an hour we were there and we had to become friends with the bus boy to get some water refills. It wasn 't even busy, there were two other waitresses and only two other tables were full. I will NEVER go here again. The only reason I 'm giving the place two stars is because the food was good and after yelling at the manager for 10 minutes, she comped our whole check. Still, this is not something I want to have to do, especially at a place that costs around $15 per roll. I guess my best advice is to just skip Ra altogether."

This place has been a downtown staple for years. Now the new owner is packing up and moving to north park. Really bummed. This was my go to for lunch as it was a 5 minute walk from my office.

The order ahead format was unusual, but our party of 4 was blown away but the excellent value on the amazing food. Literally every dish was blow you away. Plus as a mixed veg and omni crowd, the huge menu with tons of choices pleased everyone. Amazingly friendly attentive staff too. Even parking was cheap. What a find. View menu

I like the stateside crazy sushi rolls and this place has a lot of great one to chose from. You order first at the front counter and pay then you grab a seat. A lot of great craft beers on tap and they have a bunch of craft beers in cans in the fridge to chose from too. Really cool place to grab a roll and a beer won’t disappoint.

Great place for sushi lovers. I came in just at the start of happy hour as we were catching an afternoon flight back home. I had the Baja California Roll which at happy hour costs 4 and a Sapporo lager pint. It’s a delicious roll you should try! The crunchy roll is really nice too. Give it a go, staff can be a bit distracted but the food makes up for it.

Today was my first time eating at this restaurant. Sushi 2 has an atmosphere that resembles more of a bar than a restaurant, especially in the front area. I only saw a part of the establishment as I was dining alone, so I sat at the bar and ordered the California and Crunchy rolls along with a red ale beer. I plan to come back soon to try another dish and a different beer. View menu

It was a good place with good service. Something happened because the food and the service fell extremely down. It was empty, just a couple of other tables with people and it took more than 30 minutes to get my order. It was a Bomba dynamite that it's not a big nor complicated plate. And it wasn't as good as it was before. The nuggets in the inside probably were unfrozen. I'm not sure but definitely I don't get how it took so much. The place is super dirty and the servers trying to do their job but still a very poor experience. I think this was the last time that I visit this place. I absolutely do not recommend it.

Sushi 2 has many vegan/vegetarian sushi, appetizers, and bento options (in addition to the usual non-veg options) so this place is perfect for both vegans and meat eaters to enjoy together. The vegan crunchy roll was good and had deep friend tofu, cucumber, avocado, crunchies (panko) and sauce. The vegan Shauna handroll was also good.I had the vegan 5 spice wings and they were alright, I think I might prefer one of the other options and will try one with sauce in the fitute. They have many vegan wing options so this is a major plus.I haven't dined in because the location is downtown and parking is so limited, but if you do a pick up order, there is a yellow curb in front if Citi Bank that you...

"I adore this restaurant. Golden Hill is filled with many many quality eateries, and Counterpoint anchors the neighborhood with it's fun atmosphere and dedication to quality. They recently renovated and the new space is open, airy and provides a variety of seating options: bar seating, restaurant seating, and upper balcony (I use this as a quiet place to WFH during the week), and an outdoor patio. I'm partial to the biscuit and gravy for breakfast, but the brined chicken and waffles or breakfast hash always makes me smile and sends me unto the world with a better outlook on life and a doggie bag. When it's hot, delicious crunchy salads are on the lunch menu and the craft beers and unique slushy flavors change. Counterpoint takes the quality of food and libations seriously. The craft cocktails rotate as the bartenders are encouraged to explore and grow. The owner and team are always warm, welcoming and make sure you have a good experience. Did I mention they are DOG friendly? Definitely worth the trip up the hill from downtown if you're looking to wind down after an event or precharge and eat before a baseball game. I love to bring my friends for a snack (try the olive selection) and chat on a twilight night. Space heaters outside if you get cold. Fans inside if you get warm. Honestly if you live in or are visiting the 92102 area code you should go to Counterpoint: good food, really good cocktails, and great company. It is clear that this establishment cares about quality, cares about your comfort and loves if you have a good time."
