"I ordered a Western omelette, along with a side of American fries and bacon. The American fries weren't exactly what I had in mind; I expected them to be crispy roasted potato chunks, but they turned out to be thin slices that were mostly crispy from being fried on a griddle. I think they would benefit from some heartier, chunky home fries. The omelette was flavorful, although it was just slightly undercooked in a few spots, with the egg whites not being fully firm. I chose Swiss cheese for my omelette, and it complemented the dish nicely. If I could suggest one enhancement to elevate the meal even further, a tangy hollandaise sauce would be a fantastic addition. Without a doubt, the highlight of the meal for me was the bacon. They serve thick slices that are cooked perfectly; I could have easily eaten a whole plateful of just the bacon! As others have noted in their reviews, I think the restaurant could really benefit from an update to its decor and furniture. It's a small establishment in a small town, so I didn’t expect anything extravagant. Still, a more modern touch would greatly enhance the overall experience."

This is a wonderful little restaurant! The food is delicious, and the service is outstanding. We noticed they were quite busy on a Sunday at noon. They only serve breakfast on Sundays, but it's fantastic! We would love to visit TJ Charlie's on a weekday sometime!

Terrible experience! The decor is stuck in the 90s, the tables are wobbly, and the water jugs are stained yellow. The carpet is filthy, too. Dining outside makes it somewhat tolerable, but the inside is a complete disaster! It's especially disappointing when you compare it to the Town Club or Chef Charles.

My partner and I visited this restaurant during our trip along the Lake Michigan coast. I ordered the River Walk burger with peanut butter, and it was delicious! My partner tried the olive burger and loved it as well. I highly recommend giving this place a try, and I look forward to stopping by again in the future. View menu

As for the Huge Onion Rings, they were wonderfully crunchy on the outside with a light, thin batter encasing thick, perfectly cooked rings of onion—no mushiness here, just beautifully browned goodness. The waitress was attentive and friendly. Masks are required, which I appreciate, and the seating is nicely spread out. I highly recommend this place!

We visited during the busy lunch hour, and the waitress, who I believe was named Charly, was not only very busy but also incredibly friendly. The locals clearly adored her. My mom ordered the cod sandwich and absolutely loved it. During our trip to Michigan, we noticed that almost every restaurant offered a green olive burger, so I decided to give it a try. It was interesting and quite tasty. As previous reviews have pointed out, the restaurant is a bit outdated, but that doesn't stop the locals from supporting it. Addressing the broken window on the front door and updating the carpet or flooring would be great first steps towards enhancing the overall ambiance. Although we were too full for...

"We went because of the reviews on line. BUT, WE DID NOT share the same experience as others. Pearls, a New Orleans style restaurant was our destination. Well after personally going to New Orleans 7 times I was excited to give this place a try. I was NOT IMPRESSED to say the least. I've been in the business long enough (40+yrs as a chef) to know when everything comes out of a box, can or premade to heat and serve. 1. Gumbo mushy held to long and heated multiple times with undercooked and dried out rice. 2. Greens steam table scorched and I'm sure reheated multiple times. I think the added sugar to hide the bitterness. 3. Bread corn and baguette style obviously frozen heat and serve. 4. Fried okra frozen out of a bag and they didn't even break up the clumps. 5. Hurricane/coffee Crystal though it tasted ok, but it WAS NOT authentic, trust me, I know! My coffee was fresh though. 6. Blackened shrimp Alfredo Crystals entree. Burnt, which they tried to hide, tough shrimp on what was more like a Lipton soup and noodle kinda stuff. My entree Shrimp Po' boy w/fries. Shrimp was cooked better but the sauce was more like just mayo and ketchup than a true remoulade which is what really makes the sandwich and of course the fries were mushy. And over all the food was served room temp. We give the food a 2 out of 10 and that's on the high end. We give the service an 8, we had to ask for refills on coffee and water. To much for cafeteria style cuisine. We do not recommend."
