"My wife and I are regulars. We have have tried almost everything on the menu and our meals have never been anything less than superb. As a comparison, for an anniversary we went to a French restaurant in midtown 3x more expensive that was fancier but wasn't as good. As a bonus the owners Kenichi and Keiko are super nice people. You feel good eating there. Now for the food. Parts of the menu change seasonally so you'll have to check the menu but the cassoulet, the duck (any of them), the venison, and the pig knuckle are exceptional. For starters its hard not to get the ostrich tartare with foie gra, it's an act of will. Finally, for dessert the fig toffee pudding cake could make you forget chocolate, happily they put some chocolate sprinkles on so you won't."

Absolutely fantastic food, every bite is delicious, very small place reservations recommended.

it is like a french-style tapas, nicely done; calm, and away for the trendy areas; we enjoyed it.

Food and atmosphere was great! A great place away from the hustle and bustle of the city nestled in a quiet neighborhood. View menu

We just had a delicious meal—get as many tapas as possible! The paella was great, but for me, the octopus stole the show. Wine pairing was excellent, too.

Excellent food with some imaginative twists on classic French dishes. Really loved the flavors in the seafood carpaccio and the venison Rossini. Portions are on the small side, but the flavors are divine. Would definitely recommend. Great little date night spot in the area. Keen to come back soon. Service was attentive and friendly

We started with the pumpernickel bread, which arrived hot which was a great surprise, and the ostrich fois gras, which was interesting. I then had the duck wonton consommé which was also excellent. The duck duo entrée special was just that- very special. And the chicken was also good. Definitely a creative menu that is worth the price of admission- and is not as expensive as many of the much-touted French establishments in NYC. View menu

It's a shame everyday of the week can't be a Monday this summer. Otherwise I'd try to eat here almost everynight. Unfortunately the restaurant is only open on Mondays for the summer, so we'll all just have to settle for once a week. As another reviewer said the food here is among the best, if not the best tapas in NYC, and is probably up among the top meals I've had at a New York restaurant. My three favorites were the oxtail, the roasted eggplant, and the goat cheese, apple, and cayenne-lime merengue desert. The flavors and textures combined together deliciously in each plate we had. Definitely will be going back soon to try out the paella

A lovely new addition to the Tastings Social guest chef roster at the Mountain Bird spot in East Harlem, GAUDlr with Chef Cedric Durand. A Spanish tapas style pop-up, this particular night featured a set tasting menu to celebrate Sant Gordi, a Catalan lover's celebration associated bizarrely with St. George. Complementary roses and a book of choice were exchanged, then a glass of Prosecco, followed by a delicate octopus appetizer, eggplant/ tomato terrine, cuts of an aged ham, squid with fava and peas, then two entrée choices (duck or fresh lobster risotto) and a perfect strawberry meringue and chocolate cake desert. Bravo! Keep these innovations coming.

"We went to Bread N Wine on a early Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were greeted and seated by the servers who were attentive. The food was okay the bread was really soft and fresh. My partner got the French Lentil Soup, Spinach and Tomato Egg Bake andI got the French onion soup, egg omelette with spicy tomato avocado and onions. I wasn 't happy with my omelette because thespicy just meant it was covered in hot sauce within. For beverages, we got chai lattes (we later found out it wasn 't tea basedbut rather coffee) and we had the option of oat milk, almond milk or regular milk. In terms of our overall experience we feltby the end too many things were steering the experience south; the worst was when we were accused of using counterfeit money topay for the tip. There was no special marker used to prove that the money was counterfeit or technology to back up this claim. That experience alone left a bad taste in our mouth as we left embarrassed by that claim, kind of shook from that, we stilladded the tip to our credit card 18%. As we walked out and talked about how weird that was, the owner of the business nextdoor overheard us and asked to see the $20 bill he showed us that our money was real and validated what we knew, that themoney wasn 't counterfeit. When we went back into Bread N Wine to discuss this there was no apology, just well, it felt thatway , shrug. It left a terrible feeling. We would not go back after that, this is not how you treat customers from start tofinish, hence the 2 star review."
