"I want to share our most recent experience that occurred on August 8th, 2022, around 7:00 PM, which prompted us to write this review. We usually prefer to order take-out, but when we called, they refused to take our order over the phone and insisted we come in-person to place it. When we arrived, the waitress refused to take our take-out order and directed us to speak with the bartender. Interestingly, the bartender also refused to take our order (and was quite rude) insisting that we must purchase drinks before she would take our food order. As Muslims who do not drink, we had to ask her to take our order without drinks. After some insistence, she agreed but told us we would have to wait for 25 minutes. We waited outside, only to find out after the allotted time that our order had never been input into the system. She did not apologize or show any remorse, leaving us feeling disrespected. While we eventually received our food (after a total wait of 50 minutes), the poor service, lack of courtesy, and disregard for customers have made us decide to never return. The food may be great, but the staff and their service are certainly not."

Tavern on Main is a quaint little restaurant with a relaxing vibe. I ordered the beer battered cod, which was absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly. Our waitress was fun, happy and very efficient. When we are back in town to visit our daughter at URI we will be back!! View menu

the service was terrible and eating was expensive, but decent. our order was forgotten and served lately. the management was not concerned about the delay. we often visit our daughters who go to school in the uri and we are always looking for good restaurants, and now we have found one that we will never eat there again.

My daughter goes to URI and we are always looking for good places to take her out for dinner, and we decided to go to Tavern on Main. The place was nice but we immediately noticed that the service was awful. We waited for our waitress for a long time. When we placed our order the waitress took a long time to tell us that they didn't find it, so our meal was delayed, and we were served later. I would have walked out but I didn't want to upset my daughter. Management did not seem to care about the delayed order. The waitress was not that good. The food was decent but expensive, too expensive for the type of food served. This is one place that we will not be returning.
