"We're from the NW burbs (and Chicago) where many German restaurants have closed up. We met a friend who highly recommended The Bavarian Lodge. He was so right. First time we've seen Kassler Ripchen on a menu. my wife's favorite. Big smoked pork chops with excellent gravy and spaetzle. Outstanding red cabbage. I'm a Sauerbraten maven and mine was tender juicy and super tasty. We both had ample portions, so we get a lunch for later too. LIver Dumpling soup was so tasty too. I draank the remainin broth like it was a cup. Mhmm Wine is reasonable. Apple Strudel was just ok. Could have been crunchier. On a Saturday night at 5pm it's very busy and service is slow but very pleasant. The only detractor is the noise, If you're looking for an intimate conversation this isn't the place."

We love their food and selection of many beers on tap. The beers rotate for different seasons.

Great food, beer, and service! I would recommend the german potato pancakes, the duck wings, and the bratwurst. Highly recommended!

This is about the hundredth time at Bavarian Lodge since the late 80s. The food is always good as is the beer, I'll be there 100 times more, too.

Offers Cliqueshe Skittish Experience pours beer by ounce, taps foaming to oblivion. All schnitzel deep fried fast junk food. That's all right! Keine Ursache! Bitte sehr! View menu

The rudest staff ever called 4 times to ask how busy they are and tried to find out wait time for our group and 4 times they hung up on me after clearly answering the phone.

This cozy restaurant is family friendly. The food is delicious and authentic. We enjoyed several different kinds of schnitzel. The sauerkraut was outstanding. The prices are reasonable and the service is great. We will definitely be back! View menu

Really delicious authentic German and other East European foods. Family owned, everything is made from scratch and you can tell. Their schnitzels are fantastic as are their homemade soups and salad dressing. Unparalleled Europe a draft beer menu.

My wife and I come here every couple months. Food is always great. Beer is plentiful with many European choices. Service is generally good too. This is a casual place, not fine dining. This time we were here with friends. In the group, our chosen entrees were wiener schnitzel, sauerbraten, cabbage rolls and a sausage dinner. Everybody raved about their choice. The restaurant doesn't take reservations for small groups and won't seat you until all diners in the group are present. It can get crowded at times and the parking can overflow into the street.

"I had a fantastic meal last weekend at this supper club restaurant that we brought my mom to. It was the first time at Carnivore The Queen. From the outside the restaurant is nothing special as it’s in a small strip mall and there’s not a lot of parking. Don’t let that fool you. Once inside, it’s decorated very nicely with black walls ceilings, beautiful lighting and artwork. There’s a bar in each dining area as well. There’s a small front and side, outdoor patio with umbrella tables, too.Our server was Zane, who was very personable and engaging. He gave us the history of the name of the restaurant, when I inquired and explained the menu. He made the dining experience that much better. My husband and I started out with cocktails. I requested a mezcal paloma and my husband had one of the old fashioneds, the Minocqua which was amazing. Next time I’m getting that cocktail. We started with a relish tray that we shared comprised of beer cheese dip, ham salad, housemade crackers, crudités, olives and cornichons. The relish tray is definitely a throwback to the supper clubs of the past. It’s good for two to share. I I asked for bread, which was served warm with salted butter topped with fried basil and salt. I was surprised there was a charge for the bread. With the high prices at this restaurant, it would be a nice touch for their customers to provide complimentary bread and charge for the second loaf, if requested. My mom and husband had the beef wellington, which was the Saturday night special. It was fantastic. Perfectly flaky crust, and the fillet was cooked as requested, medium rare, I had the seared scallops, which were perfectly grilled and tender and fresh. This restaurant is pricey, but worth it. There is a five-course signature supper for 66, which would include the relish tray, wedge salad. shrimp crab Louie, roasted chicken, and dessert. You can swap out the roasted chicken for another entrée with an upcharge. I think that is the way to go so you can have a little bit of everything from the menu and control the price.I can’t think of one negative about our dining experience except the charge for bread. I’d like to come back for a burger and cocktails at the bar Their way burgers look fabulous! I definitely recommend this restaurant, but be prepared for sticker shock. We don’t mind paying for great service and food, but others may not. FYI"
