"My wife and I make it a point to support local, small businesses whenever possible. After hearing many glowing reviews about The Ginger Root in Samson, Alabama, we knew we had to give it a try—and it truly lived up to the hype! The prime rib was incredibly tender, practically cutting like butter. The lobster tails were exceptional, and you really can't go wrong with any of the side options. To top off our evening, we indulged in the Crème brûlée, which was light and creamy—a delightful conclusion to a wonderful meal! If you're in Southeast Alabama and looking for a spot to celebrate special moments like birthdays or anniversaries, we highly recommend The Ginger Root!"

We've been there several times, and every visit has been a different experience. The food is exceptional, the service is prompt, and the prices are quite affordable. Additionally, I can't get enough of the building's charm! It's just a quick drive across the Florida state line. Service: Dine-in.

What a delightful hidden gem in Samson! I received a recommendation to try a fantastic place, and that place is The Ginger Root. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. The ribeye was cooked to perfection, and the Chicken Piccata was tender and bursting with flavor. And those biscuits—delicious! I could have eaten a dozen since they were so small! Haha! We will definitely be back, as I'm eager to explore more of the menu. If you're looking for a great dinner spot just a short drive away, this is it! View menu

"As I was driving back home to Tennessee from PCB, I I happened upon this adorable little café and gift shop. I needed to use the restroom anyway so I decided to stop. I wandered through the gift shop and decided to buy some local pecans while I was paying, I saw that their special was fried grouper. Now, I am a self professed grouper slut and cannot get enough of it. So I ordered it, of course, and had a very lovely conversation with one of the female employees whose name I, unfortunately, did not get while I was waiting on my fish. I get in my car and I open up my box and get a bite of the fish with their homemade tartar sauce and y’all that was some of the BEST fried grouper that I have ever had. It’s also some of the best tartar sauce that I have ever had. It’s not sweet. It’s very dill forward. In fact it has what looks like fresh dill, and big chunks of dill pickles cut up into it, but it is so good. It came with my choice of sides and I got the coleslaw and the homemade kettle chips and then it came with three little hush puppies that were absolutely delicious. The only thing that wasn’t my favorite was the coleslaw and that’s only because I’m not a big fan of red cabbage. The best part about the whole meal is I got four pieces of fish that were huge plus the sides and even a drink and it was $13.99 I don’t know how they do it because I’ve got a cooler in my backseat full of grouper that I bought at $30 a pound! don’t know if they have grouper every day but if you stop by and they’ve got it I recommend that you get it. And I am so glad that I have another place to stop at when I go back down to Panama City Beach!"
