"5/22: when I visited my sister, we received milk-spinach artichoke dips instead of vegan, although we clarified 3 times on the phone. it looked (and tasted). yes I took 2 draws before my sister tried and said it was definitiw not vegan) differently than last time. we called and another girl explained that the hot (the one we got) was not vegan and the guy on the phone had her back. the cold is the vegan. they reimbursed us for the bath, but this is a disgusting and unacceptable mistake, especially because people have milk allergies. Of course we were disgusting and could not enjoy anything because we were afraid that we had given other things with milk or meat. it's a shame because eating is good, but a really rough mistake. 3/22: after almost a year and a half back into the hollow chamber, since we were last there and enjoyed more than last time. we ordered the spinach and artichoke dip and mozzarella bite appetizer, a vegan reuben, and a vegan queen. everything was so delicious and we really enjoyed everyone so much. will be definitiw next time back to albany. 8/20: the reubs and the mozzarella keile. mozz was incredible, but marinara needed some work. reuben was good, but sour wort had a strange taste. I never had a traditional meat reuben (that was my first at all) and I enjoyed it, but not sure how it compared with the traditional art that people had eaten before-vegan. updated by previous review on 2022-03-06"

They have a good amount of vegan options, we had the mozzarella sticks and spinach dip. Both were ok but bland, wouldn’t go out of my way to get it again #Veganuary

Great find! We just asked a random guy on the street and he recommended this place. I had salmon with julienned veggies over white/wild rice, the Mr. had clam strips and fries, and it was all great. Waitstaff was friendly and attentive.

As the only vegan in my family, I always appreciate it when we go to a restaurant that offers options for me. The menu was fantastic for our visit, where we only ordered drinks and appetizers. I tried the vegan mozzarella with raspberry jam and absolutely loved it. The bartenders and staff were very friendly, making our visit even more enjoyable. View menu

My partner and I frequently visit The Hollow. It is one of the best restaurants in Albany. The vegan dishes are not hidden in the back of the menu, but integrated into the main offerings. The menu, while small, has a variety of options to suit almost anyone's preferences. Don't forget to try the cocktails, as they are excellent. The staff and kitchen are knowledgeable about vegan cuisine.

My partner is vegan and I’m gluten-free and we had plentiful options at this place. They have a very creative menu. Service is good. The vegan version of the spinach artichoke dip was not good. Portion was small, you can’t taste the spinach or theartichoke. Tastes like a cilantro cold soup. Risotto was excellent. Best risotto I’ve had all year. The vegan Tennesseesandwich was a 4/5. We recommended this place if you’re passing through Albany

Great service, might need a reservation for dinner. We had the vegan pulled pork sandwich which wasn’t jackfruit I’d say it was more of a sloppy Joe, not the most appealing appearance, but flavors were good. Sweet and kind of cinnamony. Husband had the vegan Reuben which was very tasty but way too salty for me. Sandwich breads and vegan cheese on the Reuben were fantastic. Our server saved us a slice of the vegan chocolate cake, which was the size of a mini loaf and smothered in chocolate and raspberry sauce. Pretty yummy, tasted like something your sister would bake if she tried to bake vegan for your birthday. Next time I’d order other things. View menu

The service was good. The food was okay could have used more spice. It did hurt my stomach the next morning so I would definitely recommend getting your steak super well done. The Brussel sprouts were very good I would get them again. The prices were a bit high for the layout of the resturant. The show with the dinner was a plus that I enjoyed. A great opportunity for local talent to showcase themselves. Having the local talent there really adds to the uniqueness of the resturant. Not soo bad, but I probably wouldn't go back. As their menu online was different then what they had in person so the options were very small compared to what Google showed.

Not suggested. I ordered the Eggplant parm sub it was grey and not fresh at all. Most likely sitting out for days. The nachos were extremely burnt, cheese only on the bottom of the dish, and filled with way too many beans . In the orange bowl is theeggplant… doesn’t even look like eggplant. The mussels appetizer was horrible. Has cinnamon in it?? The broth was grey ,mussels over cooked , very chewy, and not completely heated with the mussels on the bottom being cold….. Not tasty and wouldntrecommend to anyone. The workers were clearly at odds being rude to one another … The waiter with the black dress was veryrude rolling her eyes , didn’t greet not even in the bathroom, and she clearly was...

"We had requested the rounded corner booth in the main dining room and arrived 20 minutes early, planning to enjoy a cocktail at the bar. But instead, we were seated at a booth right next to our preferred one. A couple finished their meal shortly after we sat down, well before our 6:30 reservation. We ordered a Beefeater gin and tonic and a very dry Beefeater martini. Both drinks had an unusual, perfume-like scent that was quite off-putting. My wife sent her drink back, and I decided to switch to a Bombay martini, but the same strange floral fragrance persisted. I regularly enjoy Beefeater and Bombay dry martinis and have never experienced this odd aftertaste before. For my main course, the Duck and Porcini confit ragu had hardly any duck in it. There were only a few shreds of duck meat hidden in the tagliatelle, but no substantial pieces. My wife’s Pesto and Shrimp dish arrived swimming in a broth. While this might be a traditional way to serve it, there was no mention of broth on the menu. She had expected the pesto to be coated on the pasta and oily, rather than soupy. As much as we have loved Capriccio over the past three decades, this experience was disappointing. We didn't even stay for dessert. We'll certainly return, but I hope to avoid writing another negative review. I usually don’t share my thoughts unless absolutely necessary, but I felt compelled to do so this time."
