"This restaurant has been replaced by a new café. I ordered a sandwich, and when I bit into it, the inside was completely frozen—like an ice cube. I ended up having to throw the whole thing away and didn’t eat again until two hours later, by which time I was really hungry. They've stopped serving bagels, açaí, and many of the menu items they used to have. The staff is friendly, as always, but the menu has really declined. The interior lacks character; it seems that the bland aesthetic of Midtown has taken over Morningside Heights."

I had the most incredible sandwich (the Jack Benny) multiple times. However, the tater tots I received one day were inedible and had a terrible smell. Despite that, I still returned the next day for the sandwich!

The Nutella crepe wasn't amazing, but my mocha was nice and rich, and this coffee shop also offers a good amount of seating and free wifi. It was a nice place to get a little work done for an hour. Service was quick.

Waited for 30 minutes for a sandwich. If I need that amount of time to get food, I can simply go to a restaurant rather than a coffee place. No apology or any explanation after all. The staffs were impolite and ignored me for several times. The yogurt is very dry but the coffee is fine. View menu

The good: The space is lovely, and the pastries are decent. This cafe is always less crowded than the Hungarian Pastry Shop down the block. The bad: There’s a shorter Hispanic lady on staff who’s pretty rude. She’s dismissive and won’t even look you in the eye. Like many of the other reviews suggest, customer service isn’t a forte at this cafe.

Ordered an iced coffee with almond milk and got a black coffee. When I asked if there was almond milk the woman who worked there rudely said “it’s there” and the coffee itself was really bitter and gross. I also ordered a shrimp salad and it tasted like it had been sitting out for a while the lettuce was soggy and the shrimp tasted like it had gone bad. I’ve avoided this place ever since.

I come from Europe, and crepe is something i eat regularly. I ordered a pesto mozzarella crêpe and cappuccino with oatmilk here. The coffee was ok. The crepe was mediocre, thick, soggy (very watery underneath), and not tasty. Using plastic utensils, paper plates, and cups is very annoying, especially when you're eating something wet. It feels you're getting bits of the paper plate in each bite. Atmosphere ok, Staff were friendly. View menu

The staff was extremely rude, and the atmosphere felt hostile. The disdainful looks and lingering stares were uncomfortable, and my companions noticed it too. They seem to believe they’re doing you a favor by serving you, but the reality is that I paid for this experience. While I don’t expect them to be overly friendly, basic respect should be a given. I have no intention of returning, even if I were offered free food and drinks for life!

I was pretty disappointed in my meal here. I got a classic bagel and coffee and my bagel was completely burnt to the point where it wasn’t edible because it was so hard. The coffee was a bit subpar as well. I understand mistakes happen, but I would think that even if the bagel was burnt the first time, the workers would make a different one before handing it over?Other than the food, the coffee shop itself is aesthetic and seems like a nice place to study.
