"The experiences at Top Wok can vary from one visit to another. There are days when the food might not be as good as usual, but keep in mind that this is a small, locally-owned restaurant, often described as a "hole in the wall." As someone who has been a patron for years, I can confidently say that the food is delicious and likely among the best Chinese cuisine available in San Pedro. I've never heard of anyone from my friends or family getting sick after dining there. If you had a less-than-stellar first visit, I encourage you to give Top Wok another chance. Be sure to try their 'orange chicken' or 'house special lo mein.' While the prices can be on the higher side, I believe the effort that goes into preparing quality Chinese food justifies the cost. When ordering online for delivery, you can expect a generous meal for just under $20, which includes a 20% tip and delivery fee. If price is a concern, consider ordering from their lunch specials. Overall, while Top Wok may not be a flawless Chinese restaurant, the staff is genuine, and I've enjoyed nearly every meal I've had there. I would gladly recommend it to others."

Great restaurant. Inventive dishes. I like the fact they are not serving huge portions. I don't like feeling like I ate too much. Elaborate dishes. Went there for dinner and brunch and was never disappointed. Great service.

The spicy orange chicken was really good here.. I had lunch special with the Teriyaki chicken, spicy orange chicken, rice and vegetables. I was in the area and decided to try this place. I would give it 5 stars, but there was a garbage on the floor and the table I sat was sticky. Also there is not much parking in this center.

This restaurant served delicious shrimp and green beans in a light mushroom sauce. The large, tender, juicy shrimp were perfectly cooked and not overly salty, unlike many other places I've tried. I always requested a very light sauce, and they consistently honored that request. The prices were reasonable, and one order was enough for two meals. I'm really disappointed to see that it seems to be closed now! As of January 17, 2020, the phone didn’t distinguish between online orders, and the restaurant had butcher paper covering all its windows, even though the sign was still up. View menu

This review is actually about Bird Talk Chicken, which has taken over from Top Wok, a place known for its non-authentic Chinese cuisine. I'm glad that Top Wok is closed. It's important to note that Bird Talk Chicken is now the new establishment. I visited tonight to try their chicken sandwiches and chicken tenders. I found both to be just as good, if not better, than Popeyes' chicken sandwich, both in taste and quality. We also ordered a side of fried cucumbers and buttermilk waffles to go with our sandwiches and tenders. Just a note: be specific when ordering the buttermilk waffles, as they have two different types of waffles. The service was excellent, though we did have to wait a little w...

"My food tasted very, very mid... Actually, make that slightly better than mid . Before I dive into my statement above, the one positive from my experience dining there, the service was good. Our server managed to keep our party of 10 or so people together, they were able to accommodate the various substitutions several people in my party had, they were able to successfully manage a wrong order, and they would frequently go around, ask us how we were doing, and fill our waters. No complaints there, the staff were wonderful. They 're the reason why I 'm not rating my review lower than 3 stars. With that being said, I ordered a Bacon Chipotle Chicken sandwich. I like my food with bold flavors, and so that specific sandwich appealed to me since chipotle is a pretty strong and bold flavor already. When I got the sandwich, I took a bite out of it, and the first taste that hit me was the nuttiness of the whole wheat buns. Took another bite out of it, I got just a little bit of the pepperiness and savoriness from the bacon. Took a 3rd bite out of it, same flavor profile as my first two bites. Took a 4th bite out of it, I get absolutely nothing else. The sandwich was so bland, the bread was the most flavorful thing on that sandwich. In addition, the chicken patty, on top of being a bit overcooked and rubbery, had absolutely zero seasoning. I tasted absolutely no chipotle seasoning or sauce on that chicken, not even black pepper. I had to douse the chicken in hot sauce (tapatío, if I remember correctly) just to taste something other the taste of wheat bread. This was not a chipotle chicken sandwich, it was more like a tapatío and bread sandwich. At a price point of almost $17, I 'm pretty sure I can make a much more flavorful bacon chipotle chicken sandwich at home for a fraction of that price. Perhaps I ordered the wrong thing. I seem to get the impression reading these reviews that the breakfast items tend to be a bit better, so maybe I should come back and try something else. At the same time, especially after eating something so bland, I don 't think I have much of an excuse to do so."
