"I got lost on my way down the gulf freeway when I happened upon this place and thought I 'd support a local place I 've never been to. I suppose I was feeling adventurous and decided to roll the dice. I 'll think twice before doing that with random Tex Mexcuisine unless I 'm in the valley. I ordered a simple beef quesadilla and it came with a side of frijoles a la charra and a bitof salsa. The quesadilla needed some floaties because that b was SWIMMING ??????????? in it 's own grease. I 'm a member ofthe CPC (Clean Plate Club), but I refused to finish this. While the flavor of the frijoles was on point, they also needed asnorkel as there were about only six little beans in the whole dang cup so the whole thing seemed like it was 95%liquid. Where da beans at bro???????? The lady that took my order was very professional even though there was a languagebarrier. If anything that lady was the main reason this review isn 't a 1 star, so props to her. The other patrons mostly seemto have an opposite opinion than that of my experience, so if I ever (somehow) find myself back at this restaurant I 'll be opento changing my review (as per my personal rule of giving any 2 3 star reviews another chance). Fool me once though"

The plate came with two sides: roasted beans, which were quite good, and some boiled potatoes that I was left puzzled by (they were really not good at all). Chilaquiles is a serious dish; it may use simple ingredients, but it's challenging to execute well. It seems I’m still on a quest to find the perfect chilaquiles. View menu

Nice place to dine in, felt very confortable and service is good. Decided to try ?Chilaquiles and Chicken? Had high expectations for the outcome of this dish which doesn?t require many ingredients (very basic I?d say; corn tortilla, cooking oil, andsalsa , however I was very disappointed, the final product looks was very lame; Chicken had an odd flavor and did notharmonize with the dish, Chilaquiles were crispy right but tasteless. Two sides accompanied the plate, fried beans which weregood and some cooked potatoes which I am still trying to figure it out (potatoes really were bad . Chilaquiles is a seriousdish, so basic on ingredients but hard to combine. Seems like I will be in a quest to...

I ordered a simple beef quesadilla, which came with a side of charro beans and some salsa. The quesadilla was a bit overwhelming as it seemed to be swimming in grease. As a member of the Clean Plate Club, I usually finish my meals, but I couldn't bring myself to eat this one. The charro beans, while tasty, also had their issues. There were so few beans in the cup that it felt like I was mostly drinking liquid—where were the beans? The woman who took my order was very professional, despite a bit of a language barrier, and if it weren't for her, I might have given this place an even lower rating. Interestingly, most of the other reviews are quite positive, which suggests my experience might...

"Food good. Location good. Service good. BUT, the hidden charges REALLY ruined an otherwise nice experience. Example: HH menu lists Martinis as a $3 upcharge to the $7 base charge. Fair enough. Bombay is a listed alcohol; requested. When the bill was returned I was charged for a Bombay Sapphire which is not on the HH list. Charge? $11 $3. I asked for Bombay, not Bombay Sapphire. Waiter: Oh, let me look into that. AND, by the way Blue Cheese olives? Extra $1. REALLY? I 've NEVER paid extra for BC olives ANYWHERE. AND the confusing menus that a dish as including an extra sauce, [and I don 't recall the exact language but it made it seem that an additional items could be selected as well. Oops, there goes an extra $10.95. AND, the waiter recommending a twice-baked potato. Bah, boom, another $5.95. [which in fairness is disclosed on the menu in a different location, but waiter made it sound as if it was a no-charge option on the surf and turf. AND the split plate charge which I don 't think was disclosed on the menu. Ding, ding, extra $3.00. Was this a waiter, who was overly up-selling or restaurant deception? Don 't know. As I said, the food WAS good. AND, the ambience [at least in the bar area, stay away of the hotel-ballroom-like main dining area was nice. Just beware the nickel and dime charges that the waiter won 't be disclosing to you."
