Umami Burger Thousand Oaks

The food was excellent as was our service! Great night!

Horrible quality. Hamburger tasted like a piece of cardboard. Onion rings, breading where was the onion. Way overpriced. Bring back the old Umami that was delicious.

Been there before, but we were seated at the front booth. It was freezing outside and the doors wouldn't close all of the way. So, it was super cold during our meal due to the door not being closed.

From the start, the host was very nice and accommodating. She engaged with us and helped find a perfect table. She even asked whose birthday it was. The food was really good and arrived timely. It was served hot and fresh. The restaurant was not very busy on a Saturday night. The only thing that was a little bit of a disappointment was the server said they don't do anything to celebrate a birthday.

I would only recommend this place because the food is amazing. Every time we’ve gone the service though, is extremely slow. We went on Saturday night and were sitting at our table for at least 20 minutes before our server even acknowledged us. He only had one other table outside that we could see. We sat for 30 minutes easily before we put our order in. Maybe they were understaffed that evening, but every time the service is very slow. Food is amazing and served quickly, but you’ll wait at least 10 minutes before putting a drink order in guaranteed.

Unique style of burgers, most are listed as two patties, but each is a thin patty, if you want it medium rare, they combine the two patties into one. The truffle fries are outstanding. The burgers aren't huge, but due to the varied ingredients, can be filling. The decor is basic and therefore if they are busy, it can be extremely noisy if you aren't sitting outside (if available). It is loud enough that you can't hold a conversation with the person across the table. This particular night, people came in with their youngsters and the adults pretty much ignored their yelling and misbehaving. The corkage fee is $10 and it is reasonable for this type of restaurant.
