"We lived in Newtonville for 3 years before ever going to Village and I regret it more than I can explain! If I knew such a delicious breakfast spot was within walking distance from my house I would have been there every weekend. Fortunately we found it before I got pregnant so I was able to spend 9 months nom ing on delicious hash, home fries and omelets before we moved over to Auburndale. Luckily we're not far so we can still make trips over to Village on the weekend. The staff is super friendly, the coffee is great. We even tried out dinner recently with my entire family and we were blown away by the high quality food and the portion size! This is a place I will come to again and again and never get sick of. The only recommendation I have for them is to bring down the spice level of the ****** marys too hot to enjoy (and I like spicy food! . Kid friendliness: Crayons and drawing mat for kids. Kid menu. Servers are so nice to the kids and make them feel welcomed!"

A little snug on a busy Saturday morning, but the place delivers. Pleasant, efficient staff and delicious food. Spinach pie to go.

As first-time visitors, we found the staff extremely friendly. The atmosphere was warm and basically, portions generous and food delicious. My husband loves the ice coffee and I highly recommend the blueberry pancakes!!!

It was very crowded the Sunday we went. Our family members we were meeting got there early to get us a seat, but they wouldn't seat them until all of us had arrived.I had the classic eggs Benedict and boy did it deliver! So tasty. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Nice job, Village Cafe!

The food is fantastic, and the in-person service is excellent. However, I don't understand why they're not allowing takeout or delivery orders when they're still open for another 2 to 3 hours. If they had parking available, it might be a different story, but since they don't, I have to rate the service poorly because of this restriction on takeout and delivery. View menu

This cozy cafe offers outstanding service and delicious food, with a loyal clientele of regular customers. I tried the vegetarian omelet, and it was fantastic, served alongside fresh sourdough bread. My husband, who usually opts for the most indulgent breakfast dishes, really enjoyed his waffle topped with strawberries and whipped cream. For those seeking vegetarian options, there are omelets and other made-to-order items available without meat. Additionally, the cafe is located on the first floor, making it easily accessible for wheelchair users.

The food was excellent. I enjoyed the berry strudel French toast, which was topped with plenty of fresh strawberries and strawberry ricotta cheese on challah French toast. It was absolutely delightful, and I preferred it without syrup. The rest of my group ordered corned beef hash and eggs, a cheeseburger, a panini, and lemon chicken rice soup. Everything was so delicious that we left without any leftovers! Parking is metered on the street only. The restaurant is fully accessible for those with disabilities, featuring a ramped entryway with no steps, and all facilities, including spacious restrooms, are on one level.

"I haven't been here in several years and this place has changed the menu since then. They used to serve crepes, but it seems like that is no longer on the menu. I miss the crepes they used to serve, but this place still seems like an excellent local coffee shop with sandwiches.Service: I was greeted promptly as soon as I walked in even though the worker was busy making a drink. They take your name when you order at the counter in the middle of the cafe, and they call out your name when your individual items are ready to pick up from the counter. They do not serve dine-in orders within 30 minutes of closing. There are tables on either end of the cafe, but not much, so don't expect a seat during peak times.Coffee: Served as is, the hot latte was foamy and velvety without any bitterness. Even though my order was to go, I was surprised to still see latte art when I took the lid off.Food: I ordered the Otom sandwich, which includes egg, bacon, cheddar, lettuce, tomato spicy aioli, on your choice of bread. I chose to have on an everything bagel, which had a perfectly substantial amount of chewiness. The egg was overcooked and dry, but the rest of the ingredients, like the tomato and the aioli, covered up the dryness. The spicy aioli is mild but does add a nice small kick to the flavors. It is a fairly greasy and messy sandwich thanks to the bacon and aioli, so be sure to have a couple of napkins on hand. Overall, it was delicious."
