"Despite this setback, we decided to stay since we had already driven 20 minutes to get there and opted for a table inside. There were several empty tables and three or four waitresses catering to those that were occupied. We waited about 20 minutes for our drinks, which we ordered as soon as we were seated, and another 30 minutes for our catfish meals. Our waitress seemed to be preoccupied, checking on us only once or twice, and our drinks and water were left empty for at least 20 minutes while we observed her chatting with another table. We tried to get her attention, but she didn’t acknowledge us. The food itself was underwhelming—greasy and lacking flavor. I ordered a house salad, and the lettuce had the appearance of being frozen and then thawed, arriving wilted and unappetizing. I couldn’t even finish it. This was my second attempt to enjoy this restaurant, and I'm not sure I'll be returning."

The food was amazing—definitely the best catfish in town! It was a bit noisy, but it was a Saturday night. I will definitely be returning. Melanie was an outstanding server; she was the best we’ve ever had. Food: 5/5.

Normally Walt’s is a fairly solid dining choice. But this visit I have to share my disappointment with my salmon dish, very clearly looks like it was cut as if they were low on stock and needed to share the filet between other dishes… this has happened before. Once is excusable, twice inexcusable. View menu

Our favorite restaurant in West Lafayette! We dine at Walt's 3 to 4 times a month, and we always have a fantastic experience. The appetizers, entrees, and desserts are consistently delicious. Our waitress Kristine provides excellent service, the dining room is very clean, and the atmosphere is comfortable. Food: 5/5.

I really enjoyed the food, it was delicious, especially the Famous Pub Chicken Sandwich . The prices are very reasonable too.Our server wasn 't very helpful. She forgot to bring us the soup that comes with our entree even though the restaurant was empty. But other than that, the view outside was very pleasant and we had a good time.

The food was outstanding, and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. However, the server was rather unfriendly, which was quite disappointing. She frequently mentioned how busy she was, but one would think that she would appreciate that. We plan on returning, but hopefully, we’ll have a different server next time. We arrived just 5 minutes before our scheduled pickup time, but the bartender chose to chat with patrons for an additional 5-10 minutes after our food was ready. Meanwhile, other customers wandered past our order without any attention. Once we got home, we found the chili to be greasy, and the rare steak we had ordered was actually cooked medium well. This experience is completely unacceptable. Food rating: 2/5.

The portions are massive, making it a great value for the price. The restaurant is situated over the Wabash River. Our server, Kristine, was attentive, quick, and incredibly helpful in guiding us through the menu. We ordered the Baja Bowl, South West Bowl, a cup of chili, and the Nachos Grande, which were absolutely enormous. They also have a rotating selection of craft beers on tap. The food was decent overall, and the broccoli was cooked perfectly—something I find often goes wrong in other restaurants. They have a variety of beers to choose from and frequently host events. The venue features a basement and an outdoor patio, as well as a cozy fireplace. Overall, I’d rate it 4.2 out of 5.
