"We did not have any of the wings, so I cannot comment on that. However the boba was hot trash. And I mean literally still warm. I got an iced drink and the boba was hot at the bottom creating a horrible combo. Also the boba itself was like a mush. The lids were normal x lids that crushed the straw so you could hardly get it in that leaked everywhere. Finally, we also got a classic Thai tea which was pretty bland only slightly tasting like Thai teas should. Not sure what machine they have back there, but they need a new one."

Mild chicken wings were oily but delicious! Fries were crispy and came with the order as does celery and carrots. Would come back!

Really disappointed with my order of lemon pepper wings. Came extremely saturated with spice that it’s become inedible, I threw it out. My wife’s buffalo wings also came with barely any sauce.

Food is okay, but quality has gone down hill. Chicken is drier and the fries are drier as well. It's a hit or miss kind of situation where you won't know if you'll get a good batch or not. Mozzarella sticks are also okay, I wouldn't recommend. View menu

Huge plates of fresh foods made to order. Buffalo chicken fries and pulled pork fries were our choices today. Great thing about this location is they also make fresh boba tea. My kids say this is their favorite place for boba tea. Try the popping boba!

I came to buy hot wings like always and today they were dry and they looks like they Now USE frozen wings. Besides that I had to pay extra for them to put sauce Really poor quality and the hostess told the supervisor he just move his head and his shoulders that he don’t care. I will not be back and will never recommended it again. I was his costumer for 10 years … NOT NO MORE

My daughter absolutely loves this place due to the food and the music playing on the TVs. I would enjoy it too, but being in my mid to late 40s, the Buffalo sauce doesn't sit well with my stomach, so I have to be careful. During our most recent visit, I ended up grabbing a sandwich from Subway and eating that instead. Getting older isn’t great! Overall, the food earns a solid 5/5. View menu

I really enjoyed the buffalo fries here in the past, but I haven’t had them in years. I was surprised to find out that they now cost $15 with tax, so I decided to order two servings. Unfortunately, they turned out to be quite dry. There’s nothing worse than dry, greasy food on a hot day. They also didn’t put enough chipotle sauce on the plate. Overall, my dinner was disappointing. I might not come back for a while unless I hear some positive reviews about this place again. It’s a shame.

"I adore this restaurant. Golden Hill is filled with many many quality eateries, and Counterpoint anchors the neighborhood with it's fun atmosphere and dedication to quality. They recently renovated and the new space is open, airy and provides a variety of seating options: bar seating, restaurant seating, and upper balcony (I use this as a quiet place to WFH during the week), and an outdoor patio. I'm partial to the biscuit and gravy for breakfast, but the brined chicken and waffles or breakfast hash always makes me smile and sends me unto the world with a better outlook on life and a doggie bag. When it's hot, delicious crunchy salads are on the lunch menu and the craft beers and unique slushy flavors change. Counterpoint takes the quality of food and libations seriously. The craft cocktails rotate as the bartenders are encouraged to explore and grow. The owner and team are always warm, welcoming and make sure you have a good experience. Did I mention they are DOG friendly? Definitely worth the trip up the hill from downtown if you're looking to wind down after an event or precharge and eat before a baseball game. I love to bring my friends for a snack (try the olive selection) and chat on a twilight night. Space heaters outside if you get cold. Fans inside if you get warm. Honestly if you live in or are visiting the 92102 area code you should go to Counterpoint: good food, really good cocktails, and great company. It is clear that this establishment cares about quality, cares about your comfort and loves if you have a good time."
