"Yoko 's has been a neighborhood institution for years. The food quality is absolutely fantastic, and it has the vibe of a very busy, hopping joint. It 's cozy, crowded, and bustling. The sake selection is wonderful and reasonably priced, and the fish is well portioned and high quality. Unfortunately, of late the service has decreased in quality. We dined as a party of three on a fairly busy Friday night at 8PM, where there seemed to be only one, or possibly two servers working. That is really not sufficient for a place of this capacity. When our food arrived, or shall I say landed , the server half slammed/slid the giant plate loudly across our completely crowded table nearly knocking our drinks over. He did this again when our second plates arrived. There was no description or introduction of the items ordered. There also seemed to be some sort of altercation between the same server and some people seated at the sushi bar. Lots of fist bumping seemed to awkwardly smooth things over. Bottom line: I will be back for the food and sake, but probably on a Wednesday."

Yoko's is my favorite Sushi place in Portland, hands down. It's been a staple for almost three-and-a-half decades! Family friendly, and authentic!

First time dining here. Ordered their special of the evening, along with the “dynamite appetizer” and a few other items. All of it was incredibly delicious.

We had to wait for half an hour before we could get in, but once we were inside, the staff greeted us warmly. The restaurant was clean and well-kept, with pleasant decor. View menu

Best sushi in Portland I’ve had so far! Very nice staff and love the small establishment vibe. Gotta say, the sushi restaurants with a fish tank is usually good and this place didn’t disappoint!

Super good sushi! It’s kind of hard to get seats here usually and it can feel pretty cramped once you are seated especially if it’s more than 2 people in you’re group. I’d still say it’s worth it but I don’t think everyone will. View menu

Wonderful restaurant! Just a heads up, Fridays can get quite busy, so expect a lengthy wait. However, you can join a waitlist and receive a text notification when your table is ready. There are plenty of nearby bars to relax in while you wait!

Yoko's is our go-to spot for sushi and will definitely be one of the top 10 places we miss if we ever leave Portland. Taka's tuna is a must-try! Don’t miss the Poki roll, yellowtail sashimi, seared tuna sashimi, Kanami's treasure, salmon nigiri, creamy scallops, unagi nigiri, and the miso soup.

"Boxcar Pizza does creative all vegan pizza done Detroit style. I am from NY and had plenty of pizza there in the day before I was vegan. Pizza and NY are synonymous. I would love to check out Screamer's Pizza in NY next time I am there.I have only had Detroit Pizza one other time and happened to be vegan. It was alright when I had it then. I have been to Detroit where the talented rapper Eminem is from. Detroit is where the pinball like running back legend Detroit Lion Barry Sanders played. Detroit is where I was in awe when I saw the Diego Rivera murals there. Detroit isn't known for it's pizza yet lately Detroit pizza seems to be getting popular.Detroit Pizza is like a cross between Sicilian and Chicago deep dish yet comes in a square with four slices. Boxcar Pizza was named best vegan pizza this past year in Veg News magazine so had great expectations coming here. Boxcar Pizza delivered! I went with the Viktor Vaughn pizza. The pizza came with mozzarella, cheddar, kale, red onions, ricotta, mama lil's peppers, and pesto. I got it with a side of red sauce for dipping which I recommend. The pizza was very tasty. Plenty of flavor. It was a bit rich and filling for plenty of vegan cheese was used. Perhaps a touch less vegan cheese and other pizza pies with more veggies would be nice. I like that this pizza had plenty of veggies on it. I just got this and was able to eat it all. Each pizza serves one to two depending on your appetite. If you come with a friend or spouse might be good to split one and order a Kale Caesar salad to share.Viktor Vaughn is the real name of Dr. Doom who happens to be the arch enemy of the Fantastic Four in the Marvel Comics. Viktor Vaughn is also a British rapper. There are many different kinds of pizza here and am so happy that a vegan pizza place delivers tasty vegan pizza. I hope they open up branches in other cities.Recommended!"
