"We stopped in 39 while we were visiting Charleston. After we were seated, it was a good 10 minutes before a waitperson came to the table. We both decided to order a good cheeseburger with fries. Both of our burgers were burned on one side which was hard and crispy. The burned taste was absolutely terrible. Great selection of wines! One of the best I’ve seen. Cocktails were also quite good. The servers here are wonderful with a good combination of southern charm and metropolitan wit. The French style cuisine is hard to find in most places. Most dishes are standard French fare, and there are some unique dishes. Rue de Jean was a pleasure. Enjoy!

I just sat down at the bar, and no one has greeted me yet. The bartender seems really focused on the older gentlemen who keep coming up. By the way, they aren’t busy at all. I only received a menu after the bartender finally noticed me. As I look through it, everything sounds amazing. I’ll be sure to share my thoughts later to see if my impression changes.
