"There are more good reasons than ever to visit Hazel Dell these days, and Patras is one of them. Patras is a no-frills, simple take-out/sit-down joint with counter service. But you're not here for the ambiance. You're here for the tastiest gyros, falafel, hummus, garlic sauce, baklava, and more on the North Bank and the best falafel I've had in decades. The food is fresh and thoughtfully prepared. They're busy every time we've been in, but our food is ready in a very reasonable amount of time. The menu is easy on your wallet and the portions are large. I'm already looking forward to my next visit! Kali orexi!"

"I went to this restaurant after reading the raving reviews and everyone praising the food. Food: 0/10 This was the most bland and disgusting Thai food I’ve had in my life. The pad Thai had absolutely no flavor or spice. The lemongrass chicken was drowning in peanut sauce which eliminated the lemongrass flavor, served with steamed vegetables at the bottom and ended up creating a pool of water at the bottom of the dish. Cleaningness: 9/10, the tables were thoroughly cleaned after people left and prepared for new customers to come in. No visible crumbs on the floor. Service: 8/10, Went on a Sunday afternoon, two waiters were present. Waiters were nice, and checked in frequently. But never refilled water on their own accord. Also gave the bill, I put my card but they never collected it so I walked to the register. I’d prefer if they either don’t give a bill and just have you pay at the end or give the bill but collect payment from the table. Very awkward timing. Atmosphere: 8/10, It’s a cute place, beautiful decoration, music playing at a reasonable level. If it were more crowded ir might be more difficult to use the restroom (only one bathroom available for everyone) plus space to walk would be limited. Noise might be louder as well. Overall: Don’t trust reviews from strangers that have different taste preference than your own"

"I am so very pleased that I came here for lunch while I was in the area! The staff were very kind, welcoming, and accommodating. The food was as expected. I was very happy there was a small size available, as I never seem to be able to finish anything more. And there was a generally serene feeling to the place (despite the loud refrigerator running). It was just what I needed Thank you"

"Served with perfectly portioned white rice, the dish showcases a careful balance that avoids overwhelming flavors or leftover residue. Each bite is just right—not too intense—offering a delicate crunch that harmonizes the sweet, savory, and subtly sweet flavors, along with a slight crispness from roasted fruits. Is it just me, or do I always break a sweat when indulging in curry? I'm grateful for the refreshing lime tea that perfectly balances the heat. The service was excellent, and I appreciated the serene atmosphere, which allowed me to enjoy my lunch while diving into a good book—not a classic, just a good story with an engaging narrative. In Vancouver, while there may be a shortage of some things, good Thai food is definitely not one of them. This place promises delicious meals and captivating tales!"

"This is an old school local coffee shop/diner, and the good news is, they serve breakfast all day long here. Their omelets come in two sizes, half order (3 egg version), and a full order (6 egg version), with lots and lots of hash browns and a side of toast. At first I thought $17,00 or so for a half order and $21.00 for a full order was a bit steep, but in reality, it 's a bargain. These things are HUGE, and the odds are most likely you will be taking some of this home for a later meal. The full omelette It so ridiculous HUGE, you will feel like you are involved in a food eating challenge (it 's important to know, they frown on sharing/splitting these offerings). These omelettes are stuffed with your choice of fixings, so you might not be able to taste the eggs and cheese in some cases. My recommendation would be to only have two items or less applied to the omelette, so you 'll have the opportunity to enjoy everything else. They also do their own corned beef hash (when they run out, they do a canned version. Stick with the homemade version if possible). Surprise, this is also HUGE, so most likely some of this will also be going home with you too. Even though this review focused on breakfast items, they also offer sandwiches and other diner staples as well."
