"in a city that kills all old and only builds boring things on the head, it is great to come to a place that rejects it. the caffe takes an old industrial building (I think a truck / car repair shop) and it is nice. laptops are prohibited in most areas, and totally during the weekend this is a place to meet and interact with people. the food and the coffee is great, and in the evening it is about to serve various foods and alcoholic beverages. I love coming here. the only disadvantage is the neighborhood that is not bad, but there is little to do here. So you're coming to pop and that's really it."

Every week I look forward to the teas, sandwiches, pastries, desserts and coffee. I have been enjoying this unique place since December 2015 and everything that has been served to me has been excellent. Thank you guys! View menu

I first tried Paper or Plastik Cafe's coffee through a coffee subscription from LA Coffee Club. Yes, we're that serious about coffee, well, the Man is at least. We enjoyed the coffee so much, that since we were in the area, we had to make a stop.

Amazing cafe!! Amazing people! Great food! It's my second living room and office! However, the food is a little pricey and it would be great if they include something within the 5-6$ range so not each meal turns out to be a 20$ bill, but other wise: excellent, 100%!

Delicious food and ambiance. Good for easy meals and good conversation. Service was a little odd as my friend ordered a drink and I guess her name was called out but we didn't hear it and didn't know it wouldn't be brought to the table, but other than that it was great! View menu

I love this place! jimmy, the owner, is very famous for coffee. we tried the eggs waffel in hong Kong style, curry fish meatball and mango sticky rice with condensed milk. the food was very tasty and made me feel at home. highly recommended durian coffee and coco coffee.

I had brunch for the first time at Paper or Plastik Cafe this morning with my daughter. I highly recommend the Avocado Toast and the Shakshuka. The Ethiopian pour over coffee was excellent too. It's definitely a neighborhood gem! Fast, efficient, friendly service. I'll be back!

"We visited the Los Alamitos location this trip for late lunch, early dinner. My husband got an All American Beach Melt. It was a full pound cheeseburger on grilled Parmesan Sour Dough. He was delightfully overwhelmed! I decided to try the prime rib dinner because the prime rib dip is out of this world! I was extremely disappointed! The meat was cold and flavorless. The aujus again had no flavor. The creamy horseradish could have been sour cream, and it has absolutely no flavor at all, no zing. Our waitress was sweet but disappointing. All of our food came to the table at the same time. Our appetizer actually arrived after our entree plates. Our waitress did a vanishing act. She did not once return to the table. Our water and tea cups sat empty throughout our meal. Other servers took care of the tables to our right, and to our left, we remained completely ignored. After finishing our meals, we sat for about 15 20 minutes with my husband, trying to get anyone to pay attention to even our empty glasses. Finally, it appeared to be someone in management who asked if we were waiting for boxes. My husband told her we 'd like a check AND boxes so we can leave. She brought our check and 3 boxes, no questions or comments. My husband paid in cash, and she said, I 'll see you next time. He commented. There won 't be a next time. We enjoy the Foothill Ranch location, a much friendlier environment. Today 's lesson learned is that it was not a good idea to order steak at a sandwich shop."

"Our first visit to the restaurant last night came highly recommended, thanks to a friend's glowing review of their vegan menu. We were pretty excited and ordered two vegan meatball subs. The trouble began when we waited for nearly 25 minutes after placing our order. Our server, a guy named Ryan (I think), came over and told us they were all out of vegan meatballs. Naturally, we asked why it took so long for them to figure this out, which seemed to fluster poor Ryan a bit. However, he was polite throughout the conversation. We decided to switch our order to one regular meatball sub and a vegan eggplant sub, thinking all was well. But, surprise, surprise, Ryan returned a few minutes later to tell us they were also out of eggplant. At this point, we had been waiting for almost 40 minutes with no food in sight, so we asked for the check to pay for the soda my husband had been nursing. Here's why the whole experience left a sour taste in our mouths: 1. Why in the world didn't the waitstaff know about these shortages in advance? It seems like basic communication within the restaurant was seriously lacking. Customers shouldn't be left hanging, wondering if they'll actually get what they ordered. 2. It's kind of baffling that Ryan was left to break the bad news not just once, but twice. You'd think the manager, who we saw chatting with other diners just a few feet away, would have taken the initiative to come over and speak to us directly. 3. I was made to feel like I should be really grateful they decided not to charge us for the Diet Coke my husband drank. Overall it was a terrible experience and no effort was made to rectify what happened. I obviously cannot comment on the food since we never recieved any. As for customer service...HORRIBLE!"
