"You order at the counter and pay for your food, then find a seat. I asked the cashier about the items in the display case, and she informed me that they make homemade tarts that are huge and look absolutely delicious. Once we sat down, our coffee was promptly served. The atmosphere is very welcoming and relaxing, making you feel right at home. It didn’t take long for our food to arrive. I ordered a spinach and cheese omelette with potatoes and sourdough toast, while my husband chose the burrito. I usually order omelettes and find that they are often poorly cooked, but this chef did an excellent job; it was cooked to perfection, and the potatoes were tasty as well. My husband raved about how delicious the burrito was. I highly recommend this cafe—you absolutely have to try it! We will definitely be returning, and I also got the red velvet tart to enjoy later. "My husband and I have been to my Nannys restaurant many times when the original owners John and Ruth Owned it and we’re not always happy with the food or service then. On a Friday night with the fish fry my husband got raw fish and that was the last time we went. We like to go to small local restaurants to support them and generally find we like the atmosphere especially if it’s quiet. We were very excited to see that there was a new owner and decided to give the restaurant a try. The first time we went was a Sunday morning we waited a while but the restaurant was very busy and we understood that. Our breakfast was phenomenal! Then we went for dinner and it was OK. We went for breakfast again not as good but OK. Right before Christmas my husband and I went there because we had been out shopping and they had spaghetti with meat sauce on the special menu. My husband opted to get soup his soup came out cold he asked for a bowl which was not full but had to pay extra for a bowl anyway. The waitress came over to ask us if everything was ok because she noticed we weren’t eating our food. There was something in the meat sauce I believe it was over spiced and it made it kind of bitter. We told the waitress that and she must’ve went in the back and told to cook who apparently made the sauce. She came out with her hands on her hip and walked over to her table aggressively and said so you don’t like my meat sauce. We told her that there was some thing in there that we really didn’t like the taste of it and we never asked for our money back or anything just for to go boxes because I knew my son would eat it . She said well you’re the first one that’s complained about it today and I’ll have you know I don’t use thyme or rosemary. I have worked with the public and I have worked in food service and I have never in my life had a cook come out of the kitchen to aggressively address us in such a manner. We have decided we are not going back."

"I had an excellent experience at this restaurant! Today was my first visit, and I was truly impressed. The place was quite busy, but every guest received a warm greeting and a smile upon entering. Despite the crowd, my order was taken promptly, and the food was served quickly. The sausage links were the best I’ve ever had! In addition to breakfast, they also serve lunch with an interesting menu selection. I noticed a variety of mimosas and Bloody Marys on the menu as well. I will definitely be returning!"

"Today was our first time eating here and we selected it based on the good reviews. Every month we met up with our cousins and pick a new restaurant to try while we catch up. There was a nice selection of food on the menu but unfortunately we had hardly been seated when our waitress asked what we wanted and was very short and to the point. It was as if we were bothering her just being there. There was no greeting or introduction, we hadn't even had a chance to look the menu over. We asked for a couple of minutes and it seemed as though that request really annoyed her. She promptly came back a minute later and took the order and walked off not another word and no refills until we were leaving. The food was good, waitress was just short with us and made us feel unwelcome and rushed the entire time. Don't think we will ever come back here....not because of the food but because of the service."

"Best bbq I’ve ever had in my entire life. (Don’t tell my papaw) Chaz at the window is the literal best I’m pretty sure pit mistress laurie’s hands were blessed by god himself. The mac n cheese has the most unique blend of cheeses I’ve ever tasted, soooo good. The greens will make you slap your husband and file a divorce, hoping laurie is single and will accept your proposal so you never have to miss a day of this deliciousness. If you haven’t stopped by this hidden gem of hernando county, that needs to change!! Go enjoy a day on the weeki wachee river unwind at lauriecues picnic tables with a hearty brisket sandwich. If I could give it 60 stars, I would."
