"We had never heard of Bubba Gumps Shrimp until our late Aug, 2005 trip to Maui. We read a brief review on it and thought why not? It was right on the waterfront on Lahaina 's Front Street. We are so glad we did. We were just on our way back from a day out snorkeling, and wearing shorts, tank tops, and sandals, a little afraid we might be underdressed. Not at all. A walk through the lively fun atmosphere to an open window table with a refreshing breeze, right over the water was a pleasure in itself. All kinds of decor from the movie and the Gulf coast all over the place. The music was always good, upbeat, middle of the road contemporary...good for young and older...nothing at all offensive or too loud. The menu is simple, but the food we got was very enjoyable, and more reasonably priced than we expected. The service we received was also very efficient, fast, and very friendly....allowing themselves to pause a moment when we wanted to chat about local things. Between the great food, awesome service, the totally casual and scenic setting, and fair reasonable prices means I will make Bubba 's a Must Return when I revisit in Oct 2008."
