"For our main courses, my boyfriend opted for the Fettina Steak, and I chose the Polenta Lasagna. I was a bit disappointed to find that the dish I had seen online (the rockfish) was no longer on the menu, but both entrees were excellent. The potatoes au gratin that accompanied the steak were truly outstanding. I've never seen my boyfriend delve into a creamy dish with such enthusiasm, and thankfully, neither of us regretted it. That speaks volumes about the quality of ingredients they use, as he usually suffers from bloating with lower-quality fare. For dessert, we enjoyed the seasonal ice cream with a cabernet flavor, along with cookies and a single Irish Cream truffle. The ice cream was absolutely perfect—I’d be in trouble if it were sold by the pint! My only minor criticism, which isn’t really a complaint, is that the restaurant is quite small. We were lucky to arrive shortly after they opened and managed to get a table. However, the size seemed to be just right, striking a nice balance between kitchen staff and diners. No one waited long for their food, and the atmosphere was filled with smiles. I highly recommend making a reservation!"

"We are coming through Eureka on vacation, as I'm sure many others do, and found The Banana Hut online. We decided to go there for dinner because it was something different and had good reviews. All of the food we ordered was so delicious and the atmosphere was fun! My mom got the coconut shrimp with a green salad and pineapple gravy on her rice. My dad got the mahi mahi dish with macaroni salad and pineapple gravy on his rice. I got the Kalua Pig sliders and sweet potato fries those are some of the best sweet potato fries I've ever had!"

"Ordered the steak ranchero, got a very small steak for $25, and it was cooked to the point of cremation. The menu in general appears to be overpriced. I’m not impressed and wouldn’t recommend anyone else stop by here."

"we had a good lunch here. my wife had the lamb plate and thought it was excellent. I had the Nooner sandwich. it was also excellent. the fries with my sandwich were also good! both meals were very well portioned, we could eat all the meal, but we are not filled. the staff was very friendly! they made them very welcome to be there. we will be back!"

"Angelica, my server, greeted me with menus and helpful suggestions, making great recommendations for a first-time guest. I chose the empanada and was excited when Stacy, who also helped me, told me I could enjoy it with both red and green sauces. The food was absolutely delicious—clearly authentic and homemade. The chips were fresh, and the cabbage salsa was outstanding! I ordered the pork empanada, which was tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned without being too salty. Every bite was full of flavor. The prices were very reasonable, and with a refreshing pineapple cider and tip, my total came to about $25. I left feeling very satisfied and highly recommend this lovely family-run spot!"
