"We visit Chicago three times a year and Springfield is a good lunch stop along the way. We've tried other restaurants but our last time to Chicago before the pandemic we stopped here. I wish I had known about this sooner. This isn't your typical deli where they buy the bread and meats and create you a sandwich. The food, bread, cookies and soups are all homemade. The sandwich combinations are so unique. I had the clam chowder and the bacon cheddar biscuit, wow! I also had the mac and cheese as a side and it was larger than I expected. You definitely get what you pay for here. After 3 yrs I was skeptical that it would be as good as I remembered... I can't wait to go back on our next visit to Chicago."

A popular but relaxed and chic cafe restaurant downtown. Self serving with trays to contain your meals. The turtle Mocha is quite good and sweet. Definitely gets the return stamp for me.

This is the best place to eat in Springfield. Amazing staff, food, and atmosphere. I get the Gobble Gobble everytime I come and it is delicious. I've never had a bad experience. 10/10 Sadly no Dr. Pepper option for drink. :

The food was great!! They had vegetarian and some vegan options. Casual dining, self-order but then you get table service. My vegan burger on a pretzel bun was GREAT. Also get a fresh baked cookie chips with your meal. Good vibes!! View menu

The Gobble Gobble! Turkey Club sandwich was delicious with bacon, tomatoes, onions, mayo, and lettuce on a pretzel bun! The overall staff and atmosphere was really friendly, relaxed and cozy. The decor looked adorable and welcoming . Most of all, the service is very quick and timely. Definitely check them out and they're within walking distance in Downtown Springfield!

Visiting on Saturday afternoon and they were very busy due to the car show in Springfield. Took a bit of time to get through the line due to the car show but it was well worth it. Everyone that worked there had a good attitude, was friendly, courteous, and helpful. Both of the sandwiches we ordered were delicious, fresh and made to order. They were also a good value for the money. Each sandwich on the menu was very unique. This is not your a basic sandwich shop

You will not find finer people at any establishment in town. For that reason alone, I would go here even if the food sucked. But it doesn’t. Everything is good, but a few highlights for me are the tomato bisque (yes, the rumors are true—I did eat a whole quart of it at one sitting. ; chicken pot pie, pasta salad (why get a bag of chips with your sandwich when this is available? ; ANY cookie, and the Salty Dog on ice. Full disclosure—my daughter works here, but she did not coerce me in any way to write this review. View menu

The people working in this shop were so kind and helpful. My companion is vegan and forgotten to tell them to hold the cheese on her salad. When it came with cheese on top she wasn't sure what to do but the kind woman who brought it to our table realized the problem, removed it and came back just a few minutes later with a new salad. The Oodles of Noodles salad was delicious and huge! If I lived her I would definitely go back! Such great people, and they never made us feel rushed even though we were there just before closing! Yummy food!

We 've been here for breakfast and lunch. This time for breakfast before hitting the farmer 's market. I had pecan French toast and my wife had baked eggs with mushrooms and red peppers. Mine came with a side of fruit, hers with baked hash browns and cheese. Everything was delicious. More than ample portions and reasonable prices. Try the chicken pot pie for lunch. 10/2/2023: Came for lunch. I had the chicken pot pie (delicious and a chocolate chip cookie. Laura had the portabello mushroom sandwhich, fruit, and the breanne (sp.? cookie, also delicious .
