The two ladies were very nice and friendly. I really enjoyed the breakfast, blueberry pancakes were the best I ever had.

Loved the food, atmosphere and coffee. We travelled Canada and had to try this cafe. Beautiful black owned business full of joy and laughter. Chef Sara is so kind and puts love into your meal. I will be back!

So far, I’ve only ordered food for delivery and haven’t had the chance to dine in yet, but everything I’ve tried has been AMAZING! I love the food here; it’s fresh, well-prepared, and nicely packaged. Thank you for maintaining such consistency, and I look forward to dining in one day! View menu

Feels like you're in your aunt's kitchen. From the moment you entered the door, it felt a warm hug. Chef Sara and all the patrons were friendly, like your family. I had the shrimp and grits. They were delicious. I ordered mine to be a little spicy. It was just perfect. Definitely will return. Thanks again, Chef Sara!

Wow! The atmosphere was warm and inviting. The selection of music was pleasant and really brightened my mood. My favorite drink was the Jamaican Rum coffee with cream; when you add a delicious hint of cinnamon, it’s simply a dream come true. The other customers were quite interesting, and I felt a little uncomfortable at first, but overall, the food was decent. The hash browns, though, could have been better for my taste.

I found the breakfast selection to be very limited, lacking options like pork sausage and proper hash browns. The chef's attitude was disappointing, especially for a small restaurant with so few choices. On the bright side, the cashier was friendly, but overall, the experience was not great. While I appreciate that the food is homemade, the kitchen seemed too small to handle orders efficiently, resulting in long wait times that definitely weren't worth it. The food itself was mediocre, and I wish I had gone to the Original Pancake House instead. It's even more frustrating to think that my daughter left a tip. View menu

Two super nice ladies, great coffee and awesome Collards! I stopped by for coffee after being at the South Shore Club Beach. I've stopped in for coffee before but never eaten. The coffee is great! I had some croching gear with me and the owners daughter and I started talking up the craft. She makes some amazing items and sells them here. After our conversation, I decided to stay and try something to eat. I chose the collars and boy was I blown away. Spicy with just enough heat and garlic to make you see stars. It was the best collards I've had in a long while. The cornbread was the bomb too. I'll be back many times as I think this is going to be a new regular place for me and my friends.

I visited Sara’s, and dined in on two separate occasions. The first day I visited was pleasant. I was there engaging in a business meeting with two other people. The hospitality was great! The following day my daughter and I went there for breakfast. The lady at the register was snappy and rude! The food was good. The ladies serving the cafe are seasoned women, and appear to be set in their ways. However, to get respect, you must give it, regardless of age. We weren’t pleased with the way this lady acted. I will never go there again. I am not bad-mouthing their establishment, just speaking facts! Coustomer’s should be treated with respect! After all, entrepreneurs want to be patronized and a...

"Tempesta is arguably one of the best sandwich shops in the city. They make a lot of their meats in house and use high quality ingredients so you know you’re getting the good stuff. Not only can you get a great sandwich, you can purchase most of their meats to go as well as other small artisanal grocery items. I have tried almost every sandwich they have on the menu but my top two choices would be the #1 The Dante and the #2 Yo! Vincenzo! The Dante is their version of a classic Italian sandwich but a bit on the spicier side. The Yo Vincenzo is a chicken parm and I personally think it’s the best chicken parm sandwich in the city. The chicken is perfectly crispy, and they use just the right amount of sauce where it doesn’t get soggy. Both of these sandwiches come on their fresh baguette which helps set them apart from other sandwich spots in Chicago just because of how good it is. The B Franklin is also a great option, and if you’re starving get the Wagyu Pastrami but be warned it is a very heavy sandwich because of that Wagyu. The last pro tip I’ll add in here is order your sandwich ahead of time if you’re doing takeout. This is a very popular spot and is always busy during the lunch rush so if you wait to order until you arrive you may need to wait for 10-15 minutes. That should speak to how good this place is because it’s in such high demand, so if you’re in Chicago make sure you stop in!"
