"Unacceptable! One of the worst NYC dining experience of my life. Please do me a favor and never go there. This establishment does not deserve to be serving food to anyone and should be closed. A friend from Hawaii was in town for a few days and I was tasked with finding a restaurant. Being a French food lover, I did some research on new upcoming French restaurants and stumbled on the NYT article from Spring 2017 called Harlem’s French Renaissance where Cheri was features with great reviews. All the reviews online – both on Google and Opentable for Cheri were positive and I was extremely excited to try it out. Something must have happened to the owner/chef/management I the experience I had on Tuesday was nothing like the reviews. However, we were let done from the moment we got there: 1.Welcome – Staff was unwelcoming, cold and not smiling. Not checking on us. 2.Empty – the restaurant was nearly empty on a Tuesday night for dinner. It should have been a red flag from the get go. 3.Food – nothing positive to say here. We first ordered appetizers – the burrata, which was bland, the duck pate and the chicken pate. The patés tasted like dog food and I couldn’t force myself to eat it. For the main dishes, I ordered the Tartare was which uneatable, with way too much pine nuts in the mix, way too oily and the potatoes were soaked in oil. As for the salad, it had no dressing and it not taste fresh. I felt my plate half full and felt sick. 4.Price – Not only was the food terrible, but the prices were high. I felt robbed. All around, this was a miserable experience. This restaurant should be shut down."

Food was really bland and not very French . Pate for example seemed like canned food. Also the salmon mousse cucumber tasted kind of canned.

What an adorable neighborhood gem! The decor is uniquely romantic. The food was excellent, but the menu is a bit limited and they were out of one of the two fish dishes. Luckily, the one they did have was excellent. View menu

I had a delightful experience with both the food and ambiance. However, the long wait for our main dish did put a damper on things. When my lamburger finally arrived, it was indeed delicious, but it was only at room temperature—warm at best. The waitress was gracious and lovely, and it seemed that the delay was on the kitchen's side. Despite this, I will definitely return.

Cheri is an outstanding restaurant suitable for any occasion, providing the ideal atmosphere for my date. The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and well-informed. The food was exquisite, elegant, and crafted from organic ingredients. It wasn’t overwhelmed by heavy sauces, and if I lived closer, I would dine at Cheri every day of the week. It’s a genuine testament to French cuisine. Thank you for a lovely evening!

We chose Cheri after seeing good reviews about it and seeing that it got chosen as #1 in Harlem, although it is quite pricey. We ordered two main dishes recommended by the waitress. A mix American style plater and a toast. The plater was average and not worth the 23$, the toast was good. Maybe we ordered the wrong dishes, but a good restaurant shouldn't have average food. Especially at this price range. We probably won't go to Cheri again. View menu

The food was good, unfortunately the service was terrible. The food took about 45 minutes between appettizer and the main without the waiter ever coming to our table to explain anything to us or ask us how we are doing. The table next to us, which arrived after us, was given a complementary sampler bc of the extended wait yet we were not offered the same complent. They even forgot one of our appetizers but did not become aware of it till the food runner gave us our mains. It was a leisure night and we're not that hungry and the ambiance was pleasant enough where we enjoyed ourselves regardless

"We went to Bread N Wine on a early Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were greeted and seated by the servers who were attentive. The food was okay the bread was really soft and fresh. My partner got the French Lentil Soup, Spinach and Tomato Egg Bake andI got the French onion soup, egg omelette with spicy tomato avocado and onions. I wasn 't happy with my omelette because thespicy just meant it was covered in hot sauce within. For beverages, we got chai lattes (we later found out it wasn 't tea basedbut rather coffee) and we had the option of oat milk, almond milk or regular milk. In terms of our overall experience we feltby the end too many things were steering the experience south; the worst was when we were accused of using counterfeit money topay for the tip. There was no special marker used to prove that the money was counterfeit or technology to back up this claim. That experience alone left a bad taste in our mouth as we left embarrassed by that claim, kind of shook from that, we stilladded the tip to our credit card 18%. As we walked out and talked about how weird that was, the owner of the business nextdoor overheard us and asked to see the $20 bill he showed us that our money was real and validated what we knew, that themoney wasn 't counterfeit. When we went back into Bread N Wine to discuss this there was no apology, just well, it felt thatway , shrug. It left a terrible feeling. We would not go back after that, this is not how you treat customers from start tofinish, hence the 2 star review."
