"Cocina de Colima is a cozy Mexican restaurant with delicious food and excellent service. The staff is friendly and fast. Breakfast tacos and beef fajita tacos are my favorites. They also make excellent coffee. It is busy in the morning and early afternoon. Prices are very reasonable. This is really one of the best Mexican restaurants in Houston!"

Local Mexican. Good place to brush to the language, and get more authentic food from a local store.

On the 7th day, Mr Barbacoa made from Cocina de Colima... and it was good. Perfectly cooked with onions and cilantro, you must try. And you must love the atmosphere with the simple decor and Telemundo playing on the TV. Just amazing!!!

Don't let its unassuming appearance fool you. I've been coming here for more than 15 years, and the quality of the food and customer service has remained consistently excellent. Everything is always made fresh to order, with a wide variety of options available. One of our absolute favorites has to be the Ceviche!

I decided to give Cocina another chance after a disappointing delivery experience, and I must say, the owner really took care of us right away. This time, the experience was fantastic—just like before. The food was excellent and arrived hot and fresh. Your Carne a la Mexicana, Caldo de Reyes, and green sauce are absolutely delicious!

"Food good. Location good. Service good. BUT, the hidden charges REALLY ruined an otherwise nice experience. Example: HH menu lists Martinis as a $3 upcharge to the $7 base charge. Fair enough. Bombay is a listed alcohol; requested. When the bill was returned I was charged for a Bombay Sapphire which is not on the HH list. Charge? $11 $3. I asked for Bombay, not Bombay Sapphire. Waiter: Oh, let me look into that. AND, by the way Blue Cheese olives? Extra $1. REALLY? I 've NEVER paid extra for BC olives ANYWHERE. AND the confusing menus that a dish as including an extra sauce, [and I don 't recall the exact language but it made it seem that an additional items could be selected as well. Oops, there goes an extra $10.95. AND, the waiter recommending a twice-baked potato. Bah, boom, another $5.95. [which in fairness is disclosed on the menu in a different location, but waiter made it sound as if it was a no-charge option on the surf and turf. AND the split plate charge which I don 't think was disclosed on the menu. Ding, ding, extra $3.00. Was this a waiter, who was overly up-selling or restaurant deception? Don 't know. As I said, the food WAS good. AND, the ambience [at least in the bar area, stay away of the hotel-ballroom-like main dining area was nice. Just beware the nickel and dime charges that the waiter won 't be disclosing to you."
