"The first week that Coogans opened I was there (1985). It was a great place to hang out have a good food maybe a beer or two and just relax. Now I am in New York 30 years later and 20 blocks away and the conference organizers say we will all now go to Coogans. I was in shock. It couldn't of been the same Coogans I thought. When we walked in it had not changed a bit. Great food great friends and peach sangria like I have never had before. Dave the manager is one of most friendly people warm and welcoming. The service was flawless we had what we need when we needed it and when we asked it was always someone there to take care of things"

I would recommend this place for drinks. The food, not so much. The atmosphere and staff are great though.

we went to coogan’s on st. patrick’s day and had a wonderful time. it was crowded, but the service was friendly and prompt. the food was good. my friend is a very fussy eater and she was happy with her well prepared fishing and chips. I've been to coogan before. we'll be back soon. View menu

Coogan’s holds a special place in my heart, as I spent many of my twenty-something nights there enjoying the great food, drinks, and company. I’ve celebrated my birthday there a few times and this year’s brunch gathering was just like old times. Would definitely recommend this Washington Heights staple!

Coogan’s is my favorite restaurant. Not only the food is great but the service is amazing. We have known David the owner for over 13 years he never forgets us always treats us with love and like family each and every time we go even if that means we don’t go for a long time when we do is like time never passed. David is always there greeting us and asking us along the his employees if we are ok and if we need anything. We love coogans and we love David

"We went to Bread N Wine on a early Saturday afternoon for brunch. We were greeted and seated by the servers who were attentive. The food was okay the bread was really soft and fresh. My partner got the French Lentil Soup, Spinach and Tomato Egg Bake andI got the French onion soup, egg omelette with spicy tomato avocado and onions. I wasn 't happy with my omelette because thespicy just meant it was covered in hot sauce within. For beverages, we got chai lattes (we later found out it wasn 't tea basedbut rather coffee) and we had the option of oat milk, almond milk or regular milk. In terms of our overall experience we feltby the end too many things were steering the experience south; the worst was when we were accused of using counterfeit money topay for the tip. There was no special marker used to prove that the money was counterfeit or technology to back up this claim. That experience alone left a bad taste in our mouth as we left embarrassed by that claim, kind of shook from that, we stilladded the tip to our credit card 18%. As we walked out and talked about how weird that was, the owner of the business nextdoor overheard us and asked to see the $20 bill he showed us that our money was real and validated what we knew, that themoney wasn 't counterfeit. When we went back into Bread N Wine to discuss this there was no apology, just well, it felt thatway , shrug. It left a terrible feeling. We would not go back after that, this is not how you treat customers from start tofinish, hence the 2 star review."
