"I discovered this place on Instagram, thanks to a recommendation from the_denver_foodie, and since we were in the area, we decided to check it out. It has a classic vibe, but the place could use a little cleaning—there were dusty window sills and food on the floor. However, the bathroom was spotless, the service was outstanding, and the food was genuinely impressive. My husband ordered an omelette with pancakes, while I chose the Hawaiian burger with onion rings and iced tea. I can be picky when it comes to iced tea, as I dislike when it’s old, but this iced tea was spot on. The burger was fantastic; it had a crispy exterior and was juicy and perfectly cooked inside without being overdone. Our server was attentive and friendly, and the music was excellent. We will definitely be returning!"

I ordered the chicken fried steak and it really hit the spot. Perfect diner hash browns and over-easy eggs. Cool vibe with salt-of-the-earth clientele. Wonderful waitress. View menu

Davies Chuck Wagon opened their doors and stayed late for our families' lunch together after our dad's funeral. We felt surrounded by angels with Vanilla milkshakes and, instead of halos, onion rings.

One of the few manufactured diners available this far west, serving classic American cuisine. The service is excellent, the staff is friendly, and the food is delicious. It's another gem in Denver and definitely worth a visit!

After 60+ years, this place is still thriving. I worked nearby and have dined here frequently. It captures that cozy small-town diner vibe, even in the bustling Colfax area. I've sampled nearly everything on the menu, and everything has been delicious. The service is consistently excellent, and the prices remain quite reasonable. I prefer eating outside, but in my opinion, the best spot to sit is on the west side of the diner. View menu

We had breakfast at Davies' Chuck Wagon Diner, and it was a delightful trip down memory lane with food reminiscent of the 1960s, all served in a clean setting. The butter they use enhances the pancakes, making them incredibly delicious. It's definitely a place worth returning to. They only serve drip coffee, which is quite smooth, so if you're looking for a latte, it's best to grab one from across the street before you head in.

This place looks like a hole in the wall but it is great! It is bigger on the inside than it looks. It is a very down home place with very reasonable prices and good portions. I ordered The Handyman with two over medium eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and pancakes. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the slices of bacon were the biggest I have ever seen, and the pancakes were normal size (instead of dinner plate size) and super light and fluffy. The only complaint, and it is a minor one, is that the hash browns didn't have much flavor. However, a little salt and pepper did the trick! All in all definitely one of my new breakfast go to places.

"1 year update: My favorite restaurant, being a Lakewood local. Best joint around, hands down. The owner Vince Chere who will probably greet you are just amazing people. Come here, you won't regret it. Celiac safe too! Chere the one who took my order today and Vince, the owner, are AMAZING. I have Celiac disease so eating out can be hard and frustrating because not only my allergy to gluten but gluten free food that has been cross contaminated with food that does have gluten (shared surfaces, shared deep fryers, pans utensils et cetera) but NOT AT ZEST! Even though they are not a dedicated gluten free restaurant both Chere and Vince went out of their way to tell me what was safe (pretty much everything) and not only what was safe but how they were going to prepare it to make it safe, giving me peace of mind. I got the Pork Chop off the dinner menu and it was AMAZING! Zest is a small cozy place, bar, with great outdoor seating and a nice breakfast setting. Next time I'm trying breakfast and next dinner a GF Pizza. After this amazing first experience I'll be back again and again, probably tomorrow! If you're looking for well priced high quality food, Zest is it. Got celiac disease or on a GF diet? Zest is the best. Support this small business and enjoy some amazing food, service, and conversation. EDIT FOR SECOND MEAL EXPERIENCE Got the Buffalo Slider with truffle fries they used corn starch instead of flour just for my allergy, and fried in a separate pan. Amazing burger, HUGE too. Picture makes the burger look boring and fries look weird (mostly due to the cornstarch) but trust me that is the way it should look because it's the best GF buffalo burger I've ever had."
