"The good: I indulged in my guilty pleasure of chicken fried steak, and it was absolutely delicious! The breading was crispy and well-seasoned, the creamy and peppery gravy was delightful, and the mashed potatoes were homemade and tasty. My daughter, who is easily pleased at 7 years old, happily devoured her grilled cheese and fries. Despite the outdated decor, I found the small diner charming. We arrived early at 7 pm and the place was empty, but it quickly filled up. The pricing was reasonable and my meal came with a salad, soup, and a free dessert, providing great value for money. The bad: The salad that came with my meal was lackluster with wilted lettuce and too much ranch dressing. My boyfriend's cheeseburger was average, not particularly special, but he finished it nonetheless. Also, it was a bit challenging to get the waitress's attention for refills, which was a bit frustrating. Overall, I had a pleasant experience and will definitely return, perhaps for breakfast next time."

Double EE is a classic diner that delivers consistently good breakfast. The service might be a bit slow if you're not a regular, and the staff could be friendlier. However, it's overall a decent dining experience.

I see they have revamped the place. Haven't been back there since they closed early, raised prices and got smaller portions. I guess with all the upped prices they are able to make the place look decent. Good for you guys. Still never going back there!! View menu

Love love love double EE! (Besides the terrible grammar in the name lol). Love that the sandwiches come with coleslaw or soup. The fried chicken wrap is on point. came here with a friend for lunch and it was under $15 for both of us and we both left with leftovers.

This restaurant is a classic in Hazel Park/Ferndale area. The menu can be hit-or-miss, so it may not be worth making a special trip for, but it is a beloved spot in the community. If you are a local, chances are you are already familiar with it. While ordering suggestions may not be relevant for this place due to its mainly repeat customer base, if you do happen to visit, try the country omelet with sausage gravy on top and steer clear of the knackwurst.

I am not going to lie to you, this place is good. There breakfast special board had so many options it made me happy. This includes the mac and cheese omelet I got. The service was great. Even for being super busy the waitress kept stopping by and had a smile on her face the entire time. There was too much food on my plate to even finish. The toast was just alright. The food is great but the service I got this morning was absolutely awful as a former server I am a very good tipper and very understanding but with a close to empty restaurant and we cant get not even 1 refill on coffee even after we asked several times also the waitress never came back to see how we were gave us 2 carryout boxes forn4 meals (I had to get up and get the rest myself) I will stick to carryout from here from now on!!! Good food awful service... I would have left a $10 or more tip instead it will be 10% and a penny and btw we are still sitting with 2 empty coffee cups!!!

Very casual, cozy and clearly popular diner. If you like some simple pancakes, it will work, though the Log Cabin syrup (no fructose, but has corn syrup instead) is sub-par, wish more breakfasts joints would invest in some Maple syrup. I had the hash brown (well-done) with onions, they were perfectly cooked and had a nice brown crispy crust, but next time I will order with light onions (bit too much). I had the tuna melt with Swiss on rye, that was tasty and the tuna quality was good. My BF had the 2-2-2-2 (2 eggs, upgraded to turkey sausage ilo of 2 sausage links and 2 bacon, 2 pancakes). The turkey sausage was rubbery and not well cooked at all and looked very off. It is still a good place...
