"If you're staying in Princeville, this is the supermarket for all of your needs! Prices are what locals pay and it is what it is! There is fresh food made daily to purchase including in house made poke. Try the guava bread from the bakery! Just take a ticket and wait for your number to be called. Some of the poke are made with fresh fish, some with previously frozen fish. If it matters, ask the counter staff. You will find a majority of you mainstream brands and products but take your time to discover Hawaii and local products like fruit butters, pancake mixes, candy, etc. There is a dedicated Hawaii section for tourists. While most shops and restos are closed early or have unpredictable hours, Foodland offers predictable long hours so you can get your essentials and treats after a long of play. Sign up for the club card for savings!"

Good place to get groceries in the local area. Kinda crowded around closing time.

The only place we visit when we're in town is this restaurant; they offer the freshest and best deli foods around.

Great people. Richard's the bomb at setting you up with a pickleball match. Karen is the queen of the courts and is the guardian of the net and balls. Got pickleball fever? Go there!

It's pretty expensive, but basically the only grocery store for many miles so you don't have much of a choice if you need anything from a store in the Princeville area. Besides, what ISN'T expensive in Kauai??!

This is a great grocery store that I thought was no more expensive than others and had way more selection than Big Save in Hanalei. They had a deli and a bakery which made it easy to have meals without going to a restaurant. View menu

The place may be a bit worn, but it offers everything you typically need. They have a variety of reef-safe sunscreen lotions, drinks, hot and cold foods, sandwiches, beer, and ice cream. Oh, and they have spam musubi too! It's a solid, no-frills store.

This store was just a short distance from our timeshare and fulfilled all our needs, except for the location of the eggs. A manager noticed me looking confused and kindly guided me to the right spot. I recommend going early to avoid the lines; it’s a fantastic place to explore different types of poke. I didn’t ask for a sample myself, but I overheard someone requesting one early in the morning. The staff was very friendly, and they offered a lovely selection of Kauai coffee and macadamia nut snacks. However, I found the prices to be quite steep overall. While they weren’t as high as those at Safeway, I did find better deals at the store in Hanalei.

"The ambience at Bar Acura is great. The servers were very attentive and polite, they even helped us to our table a little earlier than we had booked. The wine list is also good, and they prepared some really good mocktails with local lilikoi. The food itself is average. We had tomato on bruschetta which was not a traditional pan con tomate, but more a tomato in balsamic sauce for you to dip bread into. It was too acidic. We also had the clams, which were tasty enough, but the portion size was too small. The Hawaiian fish was excellent cooked very nicely indeed, but unfortunately the pineapple purée was grainy and did not work in terms of flavour. The best part of the meal was the dessert. We had tangerine sorbet and cheesecake, which were excellent. This was definitely the highlight of the email. Overall we felt that the food here was acceptable but very much overpriced. All in our bill was $200 for two of us. Food in Kauai is generally expensive so this is not an outrageous amount, but frankly we left a little hungry and underwhelmed by the flavours. When we asked for more bread, they were very stingy and brought two slices of baguette. For this price, we would expect a bread basket to be regularly replenished. This is a tapas restaurant, and the portions should rightly be small. However at these prices, they are too small and not particularly incredible."
