"WOW!!! Where do I start, I was impressed with the service and the quality of the food at Fredricks. Its a family owned steak house and it is so nice and the people treat you like they have known you all your life. The salad bar is a help your self and the variety is great. So good! The menu has something for everyone. I had a New Your Strip that was cooked to my perfection, Medium Rare, and my wife had Chicken Fried Chicken which she really enjoyed. If you are going on a Friday for supper, I suggest that you go early because the place gets to jumping after 5pm. I highly recommend this steak house in St. Joseph Missouri to all my friends and friends I haven't met yet."

We were visiting from out of town. Selected this restaurant. We are so glad we did. Steaks were excellent. Tina provided outstanding service. Overall a great dinner. Would highly recommend. View menu

Hot roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and brown gravy was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS, and the fried cheesecake was INCREDIBLY TASTY! Service was excellent. Atmosphere not as expected for an “upscale” steakhouse; it really needs a ton of updating.

Just got VERY lucky when we googled restaurants in St. Jo. Great salad bar. All the servers were friendly, but I adores ours. Carli helped with our delima on choices and we were not disappointed. Didn't have room for dessert, so we ordered that to go. BEST carrot cake I have ever had!!!

Prime rib was perfect and “divine.” The Kansas City strip was the “the best steak I’ve had in a long time” per my dining partner. Twice baked potato was just okay. Spinach salad was good (except fake bacon bits). But tasty and fresh. All in all, the meat was so wonderful that it is 5-star for me, based on that. I would love to come back… View menu

First time dining in. This is a classic restaurant in St. Joseph that will stand the test of time. Local ambiance with memories on the walls and lots of KC Chiefs memorabilia. Chicken fried chicken, mashed taters with gravy, Brussel sprouts were cooked to perfection! Includes crisp salad yummy rolls! Show stopper carrot cake! Helpful attentive staff!

Very cool people, atmosphere was nostalgic and the vibe checked out. The staff was incredibly nice and attentive. The food was even better than I anticipated. I was highly impressed and would love to dine here again sometime. Our server Jeremy really took his time to make sure we were happy and that everything was good. I loved it! Go here and eat some food if you haven’t yet.

"We arrived shortly after 7 p.m. and immediately overheard one of the staff engaged in a conversation filled with extremely foul language, which was quite off-putting for a first impression of a restaurant. After a few minutes, we were finally seated, but then we felt completely forgotten. It took over 40 minutes before a waitress came to take our drink order, and we quickly decided to order our food at the same time. The wait for our food was equally long, taking another 35 to 40 minutes. I ordered the Simon sandwich with french fries. Unfortunately, it was drenched in so much barbecue sauce that it soaked through the bread and made it nearly impossible to enjoy. The roast beef was stringy and tough; every bite resulted in half the filling falling out, making it hard to chew. In the past, I have ordered that sandwich dozens of times and always considered it one of the best in St. Joseph, but tonight it was barely edible. I ended up leaving a quarter of the sandwich and quite a few of the french fries on my plate. The fries were overly greasy and tasted like they had been cooked in old oil. After we placed our food order, we didn't see our waitress again, so there were no drink refills, and we weren't even asked if we wanted dessert. This was certainly not the experience I wanted my friend to have at a restaurant I used to cherish. I have no plans to return anytime soon."
