This restaurant is extremely unclean. The outside is dirty, and the owner appears to have little regard for cleanliness. Not only was the food unhygienic, but it also tasted awful. I would suggest avoiding this place altogether.

Not only was the food delicious (hot rodz sandwich and sausage/coleslaw plate) and generously portioned, but the service was outstanding as well. And now we know what a Hillbilly Fortune Cookie is! This is the kind of place where I want to eat BBQ personality plus.

This was my third visit, and I'm already looking forward to returning. The smoked meatloaf is outstanding, and the semi-sweet tea is superb. The walls are beautifully decorated with interesting decor. Ron and his team have done an excellent job creating a fantastic barbecue spot. Food: 5/5

I ordered the Big Carolina, and unfortunately, it was nothing like any BBQ I've ever experienced. The food seemed to be heated in a microwave, and it was lukewarm. There was an overwhelming amount of vinegar on the sandwich that made me gag! I've never encountered vinegar on a BBQ sandwich in my life. I wouldn't recommend wasting your time or money here.

I would not recommend this restaurant. After reading the many positive reviews, I had high expectations, but I was quite disappointed with the quality of the food. The burnt ends tasted like they had been made yesterday; they were soggy and had the soft, chewy texture of microwaved meat. I missed the rich flavor and texture I usually enjoy with fresh BBQ. I recently got takeout for lunch and while I really appreciated the service and atmosphere, the food was quite disappointing. The baked beans and mac and cheese were mediocre, and the ribs simply didn’t meet my expectations. On a positive note, the staff provided exceptional service; they were attentive and friendly. The restaurant itself has a welcoming ambiance, making it a nice place to dine in. If you're after a pleasant experience, this spot has that, but I would suggest being selective with your menu choices.

The food here is absolutely fantastic and reasonably priced! I had the Eastern Carolina sandwich, and the pulled pork was so tender that it practically melted in my mouth. I usually don't prefer vinegar-based sauces, but this one was exceptional! The owner, Ron, is quite a character—he's very experienced and entertaining! The atmosphere is also very family-friendly, with toys for children to enjoy. Just a heads up: the meat is smoked on-site, so be prepared for your clothes to have a smoky scent (personally, I love that aroma, but I understand it's not for everyone). I will definitely be back! I always seemed to encounter distractions whenever I tried to visit this restaurant, but I finally made it! The place is quite small, almost like being in someone's home, which gives it a wonderful atmosphere. I arrived during a quieter time, but I noticed a steady stream of customers, and the staff seemed to know everyone, suggesting they were regulars. I can imagine it might have felt a bit unusual for them to see a newcomer, but the staff was incredibly welcoming and patient as I navigated the menu.
