"I wanted to share an amazing restaurant my family took me to in Franklin Square called Il Cantone Cafe. After living in Naples, Italy, I've struggled to find truly authentic Italian food, but this place was fantastic! We ordered several appetizers, including calamari, mussels, baked clams, and artichoke hearts. We also had a margherita pizza appetizer that was devoured before I could snap a photo—so delicious! For my entrée, I chose the chicken marsala, which was perfectly cooked. My family also enjoyed chicken parmigiana, grilled salmon with vegetables, shrimp scampi, spaghetti and meatballs, and eggplant parmigiana. Everything was outstanding! We saved room for dessert, which was equally fantastic, along with some great espresso. I've included some wonderful pictures to showcase all the food. The restaurant is under new management, and the attention to detail was truly impressive! Be sure to ask for the owner, Wilson, and let him know Lucy sent you. "

Wow what a delight! I had the penne siciliana today with a glass of Pinot Grigio. Great portions I even had a touch for lunch tomorrow. Must try!

This restaurant serves some of the best soups in the area, made fresh to order and absolutely unbeatable. Although I have a restricted diet, the pizza looks delicious. The service is excellent, and the staff is very friendly.

The location isn't ideal since it's in Hempstead, which isn't the most favorable neighborhood, and parking can be quite challenging. There are also not many tables available; I haven't been there on a busy night yet, but I can imagine there might be a wait if you go during peak hours. Overall, I highly recommend Il Cantone Cafe if you're in the area and craving some delicious Italian cuisine!

This restaurant has got new owners. Apparently the same cook and food has no problems, but they got new owners and never got a new menu, their online menu has the old owners prices, I ordered food and the new price was literally double what their menu says, much too expensive and then I called back and said wait a minute like this the price and they went to tell me all the chicken dishes are lost 25 and the salad that I had just ordered was 20 View menu

Il Cantone, located on Hempstead Turnpike in Franklin Square, NY, is undoubtedly one of the best pizzerias/restaurants on Long Island, if not the absolute best! The food here is simply outstanding, and the interior is beautifully decorated with cherry wood, granite, and tumbled marble. You can really sense the pride they take in the quality of both the food and the atmosphere. I highly recommend Il Cantone to anyone in search of genuinely delicious meals at incredibly reasonable prices.

We waited over an hour for pizza, and when I approached the hostess (also owner) she rudely said do you know how many pizzas have been ordered, its lent and walked away. The waiter was the only one aware that a pizza shouldn 't take an hour. We waited another 15 minutes (now 70 minutes in total with kids), and told her we couldn’t wait any longer. She said ok . There was no apology or politeness. She was the rudest person I have ever met, and she owns the place, scary! I guess she doesn 't really want customers.

If you want a great meal that won't break the bank, in a local restaurant, this is the place. What looks like an upscale pizzaria also has a cozy restuarant with full bar service. The ever present owner, Joe, and his wife, Ana, have high standards for both food quality and cleanliness. The dishes, while inclusive of the standard Italian fare, include imaginative regional and homemade dishes that are out of the ordinary and delightful. Give this place a try and have a cocktail with Joe. He pours a mean, generous drink. Great food and drink...whats not to like! View menu

Eating is good. Customer service is PATHETIC! I ordered several times. Continuously, I can't give myself the right price I've always called back and told me that, then they told me when I ordered. Delivery is disgustingly long. I wait over an hour and a half twice and up to two hours another time. The women on the phone should be in the customer service they are evil and have no idea what they are doing. The food is so good that the cook works there, but overpriced. I ordered a duck and calzone and it was north of 50!! You have to do better. For 50 I can go to King Umbertos or Prince Umbertos and be treated with respect and eat just as well.

"'FRESHER IS ALWAYS BETTER! Prince Umberto Pizzeria Restaurant 721 Franklin Ave, Franklin Square, NY 11010 Today 10/26/2023, I took my Honey for lunch for the first time to Prince Umberto 's in Franklin Square, NY. We both love good home made Italian food. I read some nice reviews, checked out their menu online and saw items we both like to eat, so to not far away Franklin Square we went! It was about 2;30 pm when we got there, the pizzeria side was busy but the dinning area side was wasn 't busy at all, and that 's exactly where we wanted to go. Our waiter and server Johnathan greeted us and sat us at a nice comfortable table. I ordered something for my Honey and I to drink, nothing with alcohol, while we looked over the menu. I told Johnathan we were going to first try a few appetizers, and after that, if we were still hungry we would order something else. I asked Johnathan, please, DO NOT bring us all the food at once, as so many other restaurants seem to want to do! All that food at once just overwhelms you, plus sitting there, the food just gets cold before you get to eat it. Johnathan said, not a problem, tell me what to bring you, and I will bring it when you tell me, YES! We started off first with Littleneck Clams on the half shell, then we had whole backed clams that were just made, nice and piping hot, and so, so, delicious. Next we enjoyed a nice size pot of mussels cooked with white wine and garlic, Johnathan brought us their just baked HOT pizza dough bread with butter on the side, it was excellent especially when we were dunking the bread into the mussel juice! After that my Honey and I had to try their Trippa Napoletana, we both love tripe! This tripe with the sauce made at Prince Umbertos was so good, my Honey had to take some home! It had no potatoes, no peas, just tender cooked tripe in a delicious mild sauce, which I was also enjoying on the hot pizza dough bread too. Just delicious. Wow! While were eating, the owner, and the chef came over to us a couple of times to ask if everything was okay and to our liking, and if we needed anything else, which was very nice of them to do. We now were both pretty full, but I had to check out their dessert menu first, before we left. I spotted their Italian ice cream Tartufo, and my Honey spotted the Tiramisu. We suddenly found a little space to tackle dessert, OMG! They both were so yummy! Now as far as prices go in this day and age of high prices, this restaurant has very, very, fair prices for quality fresh food! And I might add, this is one of the very few restaurants that is not charging any extra fee for using your credit card, I hope they can continue doing that, we shall see? We shall return for sure. Their food was so good, and freshly cooked to order, just as if we were home, it was a delight to go to Prince Umberto 's in Franklin Square today! Johnathan did an excellent job taking good care of us. And if I am going write an honest review, which I am, I have one wish, we both love clams on the half shell, ice cold. The clams on the half shell we had today were really fresh, but they were room temperature and not cold at all? I wish they can serve them ice cold, the next time we come. All in all, Prince Umberto 's still gets 5 stars! One tip for all, go for lunch or early dinner, You will have plenty of space in their dining room!"
