"This place has quite a few options I wanted to try on their menu. I made a reservation online because it said there was a 30-minute wait. 8 minutes later, I got a text that my table was ready. We were seated quickly, it took a while for our server to come. My husband ordered biscuits and gravy. He did not love it. I tried a bit of gravy, and it was very bland and had very little sausage in it. My food was better, I we happy with my order except I had told the waitress no onions and it came with onions which I discovered about 5 minutes into eating it. She brought it back with no onions, but I felt like the portion was smaller and had a lot less steak than the first dish. That was disappointing because the steak was really good. The pancake was okay. Nothing to shout about. They only offered basic syrup. There may have been jam, but I didn't get any. It would have been nice to get our waters refilled also. I may go back again to try something else on the menu but overall was a bit underwhelmed with the food and service."

All right to my foodie hubby for this one. Hands down best chicken fried steak with bonus huge effin pancake! Mimosa was also on the spot! Enough to share calories and so worth it! Bring the rest of pancakes home for children.

We had a large meeting group and were well served. If you order a pancake bring help to eat it. They must use a pizza spatula to flip it. Good portions with flavor. At some B'fast establishments coffee is a bit on the mild side, not here. Great cup of joe. View menu

Boyfriend and I were visiting from out of town and saw good reviews for this place on Yelp. And boy, they were right! The food was delicious and the steak and eggs was some of the best I’ve ever had. We loved it so much we went two days in a row. It’s busy, and you’ll more than likely have to wait for a table but…it’s so worth the wait! We can’t wait till we’re in town again to go back!

The service was lacking. Our hostess acted like we were bothering her. The bar seating was dark and loud! Our food wasn't worth the drive from Middleton. Mr V's does breakfast much better and at a fraction of the cost. The portions are HUGE! My overly sweet pancake was easily 10 across and stuffed with chocolate chips. My husband had an omelette and although he ate every bite, says it's not worth returning to. Try it for yourself but we won't be back.

This place was incredible! The only thing you'd complain about is the waiting time to get a table. It was worth waiting. All we had here was amazing. The service was also very friendly. Your home made tomatillo sauce for the Burrito was very good. The French toast was made with love and melted in your mouth. The omelets made with the house Hollandaise Sauce was very tasteful. If you didn't try them, I'd give them a chance, but be ready because there's a bunch right behind you! View menu

I moved to Boise six months ago, I had my favorite diners back home. On a recommendation I ended up with Joe Momma and very happy I did. I am a creature of habit and will order the same dish if it is not broken, why fix it) was to JMs twice and both times order the eggs Benedict w/Hash Browns, I tried a pancake for the first time with him, but the portions are a generous size. If you like Eggs Benedict, don't go wrong. The place was clean, service was good and everyone had smiles and kept our coffee cups full. Parking is a lot, lots of places at the front door. You may have to bring your patience to peck hours, but it will be worth waiting.

I went alone to try this locally owned breakfast dinner. The ambience was beautiful, they have a very bright and a low bright space for different preferences. The service was good, the menu had a variety of options (also for vegetarians). It is busy at 8/830, but it is quiet and cozy at 715. The coffee was really good and I ordered the food. On the picture you see the veggie skill (Menu name was another one I do not remember now) and it was delicious and a very large part. I couldn't even finish it in an hour! Staff too. Hands down great option, I will visit again. Update: I have visited twice since then and the experience and customer service was great! Last time the food was burned. I didn...

"Five years after the shocking news that Epi's Basque Restaurant owners Chris Ansotegui and Gina Ansotegui Urquidi planned to retire and that the outstanding Meridian restaurant might close, I'm happy to report that seemingly little has changed from the restaurant named after the women's grandmother, who ran a Basque boarding house in Hailey. Sure, Chris is no longer there to cheerfully greet guests and give them a hug coming and going. Likewise, sister Gina and longtime server Bridget Murphy have also retired. But the current staff is just as good and the food is still wonderful. Erik McFarland, Chris and Gina's nephew and Epi's great grandson, now owns the restaurant and is head chef. He had already worked at the restaurant for 20 years when he bought it and is a graduate of Boise State's culinary program. Friends of ours from Reno drove to Boise over the weekend and after treating them to the Greek Festival on Friday, we decided to take them to Epi's A Basque Restaurant the following night. Early Saturday morning I texted their phone number and asked if they had a table available for that evening. The restaurant doesn't take online reservations, but you can call or text. Within a few minutes I received a reply back listing their open slots and I was able to confirm our reservation. Upon arrival, Erik greeted us and from memory he knew they had a table for four for us. We ordered a calamari appetizer along with one ai don't remember from past visits, Brussels sprouts in a sauce with chorizo. They were both excellent. I ordered the pork chops with pimento for an entree. My companions chose the leg of lamb, beef medallions and roasted garlic chicken. Dinners come with sliced baguettes (my only complaint is the bread isn't served warm), soup (cream of mushroom and red bean were the choices that night) and salad. The mushroom soup is one of my favorites and it was just as rich and tasty as ever. The entrees come with two side dishes that change nightly. Each of us received a serving of a yellow rice with chorizo along with a shared plate of homemade French fries. While restaurants of different cuisines offer a flavored rice dish, many times it's a throwaway dish lacking a depth of flavor. Epi's rice is really good. I love Epi's lamb chops, so it's always tough choosing between them, the leg of lamb and the pork chops. I usually switch off and sometimes order one of their fish specials. The pork chops are flavorful and come with a small laye4 of fat along the edge. So much of the pork chops available in grocery stores have the fat bred out, leaving them dry and tasteless. When I buy pork chops to cook at home, I get them from Boise's Carniceria Coalcoman. They buy whole hogs from a local farmer and butcher them themselves. The chops are like those available in stores 30 years ago. Everything we ate that night at Epi's was excellent. Pro tip: If you order the medallions, ask for extra brandy peppercorn cream sauce on the side. It's addicting. I might ask for some next time with the lamb chops or pork chops."

"As for the food and drinks, Yardhouse has something for everyone. You can choose from simple appetizers, pizzas, burgers, colorful and healthy options, and my personal favorite, poke nachos. With a selection of 100 beers and ciders, they also serve excellent craft cocktails. The Smokey Old Fashioned is a popular choice among our group. The service is where Yardhouse truly excels. From the management to the incredible servers, we have always felt welcomed and have received friendly, genuine, and professional service. I've even begun to remember the names of the staff! On several occasions, we've left Yardhouse discussing whether we had the best server ever. Their attention to detail is impressive—whether it’s avoiding hot plates near our baby, providing our dog with water, or noticing when a dish hasn’t been touched for some time and offering a takeaway box. Bravo! Pricing is reasonable, with food and beverages ranging from $5 to $10 for beer and $15 to $30 for entrees. However, the real bargains are during Happy Hour, where a large selection of meal-sized appetizers and pizzas are half off, and drinks are discounted. We often enjoy a couple of appetizers each and a drink for under $20 per person during Happy Hour. With a great patio, Happy Hour deals, and excellent staff, Yardhouse provides the best dining experience we've found in Meridian so far!"
