"We recently visited a great little restaurant in Julian and tried a variety of dishes. Our favorite was the Back Country Fried Chicken, which was perfectly crispy on the outside yet soft and juicy on the inside. It came with fries, garlic mashed potatoes, and coleslaw. The Fish and Chips were also delicious, with a nice crispy coating and tender fish. The Chicken Turnover was their specialty, but we found it to be just okay compared to the fried chicken. The fresh cold apples were a refreshing treat on a hot day. The service was excellent, the bathroom was clean, and the food was served at a good pace. We appreciated the notice of a 5% price increase due to inflation, although we wished it was also mentioned on the menu. Overall, we enjoyed our experience and will definitely be returning to try more of their homemade sauces and marmalades."

It's really well executed comfort food. The chicken pie turnover is ridiculous. Great little place up in Julian.

Kinda felt like a tourist trap. Very overpriced for the quality. On top it being too crowded to shop, no one was wearing a mask which was surprising given how small it was inside with no ventilation.

Amazing selection of Julian made goodies and related imports. Great place to get a few indulgences and gifts for people. Prices are a bit steep, but I still think it's worth it. Staff mask wearing is inconsistent.

I tried the Julian Apple Burger, which was an interesting choice with the shredded apples. I also had a piece of Apple Boysenberry Pie topped with vanilla ice cream, followed by a piece of Apple Crumb Pie with whipped cream. All the dishes were delicious, and the service was excellent! View menu

this is a great load and all young people who work there are so nice. expect the ripe big woman behind the counter. she's rude, mean, and everything bothers her. she called the sheriff on a street singer who harassed her. the girl was on the way not in the loading terrace. we went again Sunday and just like before, rude and mean. I'm sorry the kids work there.

The Julian Cider Mill is completely insane! They have everything you could want — numerous types of honey, homemade jams and jellies, candies, ciders, teas, salsas, and more! It’s the perfect place to stick up on great items or just pop in quickly for a cup of hot cider, a caramel apple, or a piece of fudge.Definitely a must-visit spot in downtown Julian whenever you’re around the area. Worth stopping at even if you’re in Santa Ysabel or Cuyamaca.

This place was recommended by our Airbnb owners. The food was pretty good. We had a bacon ham omelette which was good, it also came with home potatoes which were good but could use a little more salt for flavor and a biscuit that is in a cool heart shape but did not taste that great it did not have any flavor. We also had an order of the Cinnamon roll French toast and that was delicious. It is a nice rustic looking small diner. Not many tables so we had to wait a little bit but the food was pretty good. update: I have changed this for 2 reasons to 5 stars.1 we have really enjoyed the marmalades and more zide that we got and it is really a fun business to buy in.2 I have spoken with sandy about the man who helped us and she will talk to him. he was very nice to help us to try and see through the load. I was very glad that she contacted me so that we could discuss it. So I recommend you stop at the julian cider mill when they are in julian, try some of the products and take some delicious tasty tasty home! original: fun place to shop for sweets, jams and apple wine. we cost the experience until the man helped us beat my daughter. it was extremely unpleasant and very inappropriate.

I loved this specialized loading. they can be local honey, sweets, truffles, all kinds of picked and skillfully sweet (like spicy well cared for garlic,) jams, jelly, apple butter, pumpkin butter, and this is just a very short list of the things I can remember. they even have a few sweet things animal that take the form of food. I've never seen a croissant or a kale stalk as a beacon animal toy, but I liked it. they will also try some of their apple butter so they know what they get before the time, and they have different glass sizes so they don’t have to buy a huge glass if they just want a little for a snack. then, of course, they have their apple wine, which they can also taste, as well...

"On Saturday, April 8, 2023, my friends and I stopped by. We frequent this establishment often after hiking in the area. We have lunch at Farmhouse 78 and then come nextdoor, to Julian 's. Half of my friends love this place. The other half say it 's overrated. I 'm actually not a pie person, but one of the girls in my hiking group is a Foodie and she has an IG for foodie content. She wanted to try this place; it was her first time. As I was leaving, my brother was holding the door for her because she was the last one picking up her order, and he is a gentleman. I noticed something was going on. There was an older Caucasian lady (staff) telling my brother, you shouldn 't be holding that door open, close it , in a stern tone. My Foodie friend heard and told her, He was just holding the door open for me . The staff member replied back with, Well, we are closing and we don 't want anyone to come in this way ! They held their tongue and just left. We were all in the car when they told the rest of us what happened. As an employee, she should 've just politely apologized or say it differently. My friends just spent over $100 there combined! The attitude was unnecessary. There was a couple on a motorcycle who witnessed it all, and they said, so much for chivalry . My foodie friend immediately deleted all of the content she made videos of to make a reel and give them some extra exposure. My Foodie friend also gave the final verdict on this place, she also felt that this place is over-rated and would not come back, not even if in the area."
