"What an absolutely amazing restaurant. This has to be, hands down, the best mexican food restaurant in Austin. Not only is the food traditional Mexican cuisine, but it's full of flavor, and it comes in great presentation. They make all the tortillas and masa in-house. I can't stress how tasty everything was. Every dish just got better and better. From the queso flameado to the ceviche tonthe cochinita pivil to the dessert. It's absolutely amazing."

Our servers were knowledgeable and personable. Food was top notch with wonderful blend of flavors that did not overwhelm. Server even made sure they came out in a way that each dish complimented each other. The margaritas awesome. View menu

McKayla was born to host large parties! She took care of our last minute requests and she provided such a beautiful and swanky space for our extremely large party. There is a reason they have been there for 15 years! Thank you to everyone La Condesa for making it special. :

I thought that every place to eat on the riverwalk was a tourist trap. I was so wrong. This place is the best mexican food we got on our trip to San Antonio. It has very flavourful food, and the salsa was amazing. If you go for dinner, I recommend sitting outside because you might just see the great view of the beautiful lights on the riverwalk. I'm definitely coming back here!

The timing of each course is impeccable, allowing you to savor every moment. Our culinary journey began with the Wood-Roasted Octopus, a dish that set the tone for the evening. The tender octopus, kissed by the wood-fired grill, was paired with a flavorful Mediterranean salsa verde that left us craving more. The Grilled Caesar Salad was a creative twist on a classic, with charred romaine hearts and smoky dressing that elevated this salad to new heights. The main courses at Red Ash are nothing short of extraordinary. The Wood-Grilled Ribeye was a carnivore's dream, perfectly cooked to our preference and bursting with flavor. The Fresh Pasta Carbonara, prepared tableside, showcased the chef's skill and precision, resulting in a creamy, indulgent delight. The Whole Branzino, grilled to perfection and served with a zesty lemon herb sauce, was a testament to the restaurant's commitment to using top-quality ingredients. And the Wood-Roasted Mushrooms Risotto was a symphony of earthy flavors, with creamy Arborio rice and a medley of wild mushrooms. Our dessert journey concluded with the Chocolate Budino, a decadent treat that struck the perfect balance between rich and sweet, making it an ideal ending to our culinary adventure.Red Ash boasts an extensive wine list and a selection of craft cocktails that complement the menu beautifully. "I literally just made a review but I’m going to make another one because for whatever reason someone or somehow it got deleted. I used to be a regular at Bouldin and the service was always amazing but my last two visits have been by far horrible. The service has been so poor that I felt disgusted when leaving the restaurant. There are two girls that work there with light brown hair and blue eyes. Pretty sure one of their names is Rego. My boyfriend and I were served by her before and she seemed nothing but annoyed and couldn’t care less if we were in her section. Barley even interacted with us or asked how our meal was and just seemed disgusted by us, just being rude passive aggressive for no reason at all. I’m a server and I KNOW this isn’t how you treat your guests and the same thing happened tonight. She just seemed like she couldn’t care less if we were there and just seemed annoyed? I don’t mind paying the gratuity if I’m being treated decently but that wasn’t the case and I feel as though they feel like they think they can get away with behaving like mean girls just because there’s a gratuity. I have friends that dine here as well and they have had the same experience. I’m not one to write reviews but I feel this needs to come across a managers attention so they know who they are hiring and how they are treating customers. Really disgusted and disappointing and if this gets deleted again I’ll write another review or just call the store to speak to a manager. Disgusted by their behavior."
