"From the moment we arrived, the waiter seemed more interested in chatting with a coworker than taking our order, and it was evident he did the same with every table. We had to ask for the cheese dip we ordered twice before it finally arrived, brought by a different waitress. He ignored our empty drinks, salsa, and chips; we had to interrupt him for refills. Once, he even groaned when we did so, as if that was a common annoyance for him. Frankly, it seems like none of the staff stick around long anyway. As for the food, I can only give one star due to its terrible quality! Each fish piece in my tacos was barely 1.5 inches long, and it was so excessively salty it felt like licking a salt lick. When I brought this to the waiter’s attention, he fetched the owner without me asking. Julie came out with an incredibly poor attitude, seemingly fed up with complaints that day, and was quite rude. She dismissed my concerns, throwing her hands up as I tried to explain that my fish fillet had been poorly prepared—cut into tiny pieces instead of served whole. She assigned blame to the cook and promised to speak with him, but then turned and walked away without an apology. In the past, I overlooked the lack of authentic Mexican cuisine—like the terrible refried beans, the use of cheddar instead of good queso, and stale chips—but the rudeness is something I can no longer tolerate. The pandemic has been tough on small family-owned restaurants, so one would think they’d strive to keep customers happy. While I understand they have regulars, it’s hard to see how this place will thrive. To be honest, it would take a miracle for me to return!"

The chicken chimichanga tasted like..canned chicken and I didn't end up eating my order. Bad bad, however the wings were alright

We look forward to eating here every time we are in town. My family and I order the smothered burrito and fajitas. The chips are light and thin and they have great salsa. Most other tables ordered margaritas which were popular and on special. Five stars for the great food and excellent service that we always receive. Highly recommend.

The food was good, not that great. It's not the mexican resto that you feel like the ONE that you'll go back to whenever you crave mexican food. In other words it's forgettable. Nothing from what we ate really stepped up to our taste. But I would say of all the Mexican resto that I've been this one has the friendliest and the most accommodating waitresses. If it's all service I would rate it a perfect 5. View menu

The outside looks a little rough, but This place is a hidden gem! Clean, friendly service. Great prices, good food and great house margaritas specials. Their chips and salsa are the BEST in the area! They use a yellow cheese instead of white queso, but with so many of the Mexican restaurants in the area being so similar, it was nice to have something s bit different. If you want a quick, cheap, tasty taco margarita, then check thus place out!

I absolutely love this place! The menu is straightforward and not overwhelming, and you can really taste the care and pride that goes into the food. The taco specials on Tuesdays are out of this world! Just a heads up, bring cash because it might be tough to hit the minimum for card payments that day. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, making you feel like you're visiting a friend's house. The salsa is fantastic, and I highly recommend bringing some home. And those margaritas—simply amazing!

This is a budget-friendly, small, and older Pizza Hut that has been converted into a decent Mexican restaurant. (I'm not just saying this because they treated me to fried ice cream for my birthday dinner!) My nieces decided to split the cost of my half order of fajitas and shared a cheese dip for nachos. I also made three stuffed tacos with beef, chicken, and shrimp, along with black beans on the side. The margaritas were half-priced, so I enjoyed two of those. If I could change one thing, it would be to order rice instead of potatoes. They were tasty, but too similar to French fries for my liking. View menu

First of all, the wait staff was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately this is the last positive thing I can say about this restaurant. The margaritas were obviously from a cheap mix, the homemade guacamole was only passable after adding copious amounts of salt, pepper, and lime. Now about the food... it was half price night and we still feel like we over paid based on the quality of the food. The pork was fatty and tasteless. The chicken was dry. The shredded beef tasted like it was spoiled, and the ground beef waa only slightly better. In short there are many restaurants within a stone's throw from this establishment and the Marriott so do yourself a favor and pick any one of them instead...

I had never had bad Mexican food until I went to this restaurant! The service was good, our server was nice and polite but the food was so bad! We ordered a quesadilla. It was ok but it's hard to mess up a quesadilla. The guacamole was so bland, it needed salt. For entrees We ordered the chicken Chimichanga with rice.. the rice was bland and had no flavor. The chimichanga itself was awful, the chicken had so much salt. I don't know what it was but i have never had such a bad chimichanga in my life! I had 2 bites and had to put the plate away. My daughter ordered a beef chimichanga, the beef was so greasy, all you could taste was the grease. Taco Bell does a better job at Mexican than this pl...

"My boyfriend and I came to this place during our visit to St. Louis after reading rave reviews about it online. We went in well-dressed and excited with high expectations, but unfortunately were left feeling extremely disappointed and underwhelmed. Dining at the restaurant definitely taught us a lot about the ozark history. I have a lot of respect for the time and enthusiasm the owner put into researching the history, arranging youtube videos, and conveying this information to the guests. His concerns about the environment and zero-waste efforts are also very laudable. His direct interactions with all of the guests and attempts to answer questions were refreshing. The food, however, was very lacking and mediocre. The concept of watching your food being made is fun and exciting. Understandably, they can’t make everything and plenty is prepared in advance. Except they really didn’t seem to make much of anything at all. A few grilled mushrooms here, and a delicate but also pompous plating there and that’s it. I know there’s probably a kitchen in the back and they work throughout the day as most kitchens do, but this gaudy element of pseudo showmanship missed a serious mark. Again, that’s fine. It’s an aesthetic and part of the bulrush experience. What annoys me is the price tag and the faint whiff of haughtiness that comes with it. The kitchen hands also looked apathetic, disinterested, and lacked focus. They didn’t look like professional chefs, just professional food assemblers. I did not trust that they knew to prepare food properly and that was evident in what was eventually served. The food was either too plain, too sour, too salty, or overall a very big disappointment. The steak had so many big chunks of fat in it that I was only able to eat about half of it. The poissants were cute but definitely not something I would pay that much money for, especially given that there were only about two small pieces of it on our plates. The beets, brussel sprouts, asparagus, fried onions that we were served, I can find and reproduce in my own kitchen. For the amount of money we paid, I expected a lot more flavor, unique ingredients, and creativity. I asked the owner why Ozark and he admitted it was an entrepreneurial strategy to stand out. He loved to repeat to our audience that night that “no one else” is doing it! Well when you taste the food you can kinda see why? I can’t deny though that the chefs know how to make something look appetizing in pictures. That’s what initially attracted us to the restaurant. The pretty platings and colorfully spectacular arrangements were what got us in the door. The experience has been worth it in the sense that for all that we paid for, we got a good lesson to not eat with our eyes, and a funny story to tell our friends back at home."
