"I went in to pick up some oysters for my daughter. I called ahead, and they told me it would be ready in 15 minutes. However, when I arrived after 20 minutes, it still wasn't ready. I ended up waiting almost 40 minutes for them. Normally, this is a great place to visit, so I can only assume they were understaffed. Overall, my daughter really enjoyed her oysters."

"The staff at this restaurant is friendly and very knowledgeable. They offer a variety of dishes, including fried and grilled fish, shrimp, oysters, stuffed shrimp, crab legs, and chicken. Sides include red beans and rice, coleslaw, hush puppies, corn, okra, and green beans. Lexi, our server, went above and beyond to provide exceptional service. Our food was prepared exactly as we ordered, and the portion sizes for each entree were generous. The whole fried fish was outstanding, and the shrimp was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend Sam's Southern Eatery to anyone passing through, as well as to locals. Thank you all for a delicious and enjoyable meal!"

"My father, son, and I went out for an early lunch on December 11, 2022, to celebrate my son's 32nd birthday. It was my first time visiting this restaurant, and I was surprised at how much smaller it was than I expected. My son and I ordered the rubber duck with wels and potato salad, while my father had the white beans with grilled pork. Unfortunately, the gumbo lacked flavor, and my fish was way too salty. My father's beans looked old and dry, and the pork chop was tough—evident just by looking at it. We were served bottled Fanta Pineapple drinks without glasses, and I had to ask for a cup of ice for my father. Worst of all, there were no knives provided for us; I had to request one for my father's pork. We felt like we could have spent the $53.50 at Shoney's and enjoyed a much better meal. I do not recommend this restaurant, and we definitely won't be returning."
