"the best at the restaurant was the view. we went as hotel guests to celebrate our honeymoon. eating was just okay, my man had the steak he enjoyed. I had the ahi tuna that was a huge cold steak of thunfish with short searing sesame seeds. I love thunfish rare as well as sushi, but no thunfish should ever be cooked like that. it was very cold in the center and the only seer was on the coating. it was difficult to even cut. our wine was ordered with our appetizers, but only after the closure of our escapes. we spent over $250 on a just okay dinner not great. the service was irregular and inconspicuous. people who worked there did not seem happy to be there. strange experience and not recommended."

We had a large party so they sat us inside and the waiter was not so good but the food was very nice.

That experience was unbelievable, and the food was fantastic. We attended the New Year's Buffet, and it was definitely a place suited for very special occasions!

The food was outstanding, and the view was absolutely stunning! I went for breakfast, and although it was a bit on the pricey side, the quality and variety of fresh options at the buffet made the trip worthwhile. The view overlooking Hanalei is simply breathtaking! View menu

One of the best restaurants in Kauai, perhaps even Hawaii. Spectacular setting, phenomenal wine list, and impeccable food. We had the prix fixed menu, with wine pairings, which every course was well presented and delicious. Highly recommended, even if you aren’t guests at the hotel. Beautiful for sunset.

Over the past ten years, we have visited this hotel and restaurant, but we've been disappointed with the quality of the food—it just doesn't measure up to what it used to be. The service has also declined since the change in ownership; it no longer feels like the St. Regis. However, the view from the terrace overlooking Hanalei Bay and the Nepali coast remains stunning—one of the most breathtaking settings you could ever find. Be sure to take a look at the photos!

This was the first night of the new menu for the Princeville Hotel (formerly St Regis). The menu is a Japanese/Hawaiian fusion which sound pretty nice but it wasn’t. The chicken was not cooked thoroughly, and my fish was over cooked. The two steaks where very tasty. Although one was supposed to be medium rare it was more of a medium. The vegetables that you think you are getting are really just a garnish. Overall we really loved the old menu and didn’t love the new one. And it’s quite pricey for what you get. View menu

The service is outstanding! The lady host that welcomes you to the restaurant for breakfast is so sweet and friendly! She is a really special asset to the warm feeling the restaurant has. The food is amazing and the views are the best I’ve ever seen in a restaurant. The rest of the staff is great too! Kevin was our server almost everyday, he is very attentive and detailed oriented. The omelette makers are great too! The view is so amazing that we ate there breakfast and dinner (sunset) during our entire stay. For lunch we tried places in the town.

both restaurants in the princeville resort were our favorites in this holiday. the makana also serves as an breakfast room and is a delightful way to start the day and surely the best breakfast buffet that we had insulate everywhere on the Hawaiian, an amazing buffet with all the usual hot choices, tropical fruit spreads, a cooking station for custom omelets, small smokers with fish, rice and egg on the top, tropical juices. the location is beautifully conquering the morning sun and then the warm glamour of the evening sunset. we had a dinner there night and were again delighted with the quality of fish, salads and service. the personal is especially personal and efficient. highly recommende...

"The ambience at Bar Acura is great. The servers were very attentive and polite, they even helped us to our table a little earlier than we had booked. The wine list is also good, and they prepared some really good mocktails with local lilikoi. The food itself is average. We had tomato on bruschetta which was not a traditional pan con tomate, but more a tomato in balsamic sauce for you to dip bread into. It was too acidic. We also had the clams, which were tasty enough, but the portion size was too small. The Hawaiian fish was excellent cooked very nicely indeed, but unfortunately the pineapple purée was grainy and did not work in terms of flavour. The best part of the meal was the dessert. We had tangerine sorbet and cheesecake, which were excellent. This was definitely the highlight of the email. Overall we felt that the food here was acceptable but very much overpriced. All in our bill was $200 for two of us. Food in Kauai is generally expensive so this is not an outrageous amount, but frankly we left a little hungry and underwhelmed by the flavours. When we asked for more bread, they were very stingy and brought two slices of baguette. For this price, we would expect a bread basket to be regularly replenished. This is a tapas restaurant, and the portions should rightly be small. However at these prices, they are too small and not particularly incredible."
