Mango's Tequila - Menu

Went there with six other people. Our wait for the drink order was very long. The drinks were weak. The steaks in our beef dishes were tough and the chicken in our Crazy Tacos were not seasoned at all. I needed to pour salsa on the tacos for some flavor.

This is our favorite Mexican restaurant in Alpena. No matter what time we come in here the food and drinks are delicious. I see there menu has now added many American foods. I have not tried any of them my son said there burger was really good. As always our food was top notch. We will be back as this is one of our favorite places to eat.

Went here Saturday and got a margarita enchiladas. Everything was covered in salt first sip of the margarita I got a literal mouth full of salt. The rice was coated in salt I couldn't even eat it. The atmosphere is fun and the service was great. The food was disappointing. I had carne asada street tacos. Lots of meat but it was dry and tough and the tortillas were barely warmed. My husband had a fajita quesadilla and was also not impressed. Not sure we'll go back. Three stars is generous based on the service and ambiance. Food was less than 2 stars based on our experience.

At Mangos in Alpena, Michigan, the ambiance was undeniably warm and inviting, creating the perfect backdrop for what could have been a delightful evening. While it may not have been the most remarkable dining experience, it possessed a comforting, home-like charm. The margarita, though not made by a skilled mixologist, contributed to the laid-back vibe of the place. Overall, I would rate Mangos Tequila Bar a solid 3 out of 5 stars. Even with the service being average, it still managed to provide a genuinely pleasant and enjoyable evening.

Stopped in at Mango 's on my recent trip up to Alpena, and I have to say my experience was rather disappointing. Ordered a Vegetarian Burrito, and an order of bean and cheese nachos. What I got definitely could not be classified as a burrito but rather some morphed enchilada and burrito mix, I mean the burrito didn 't even have beans or cheese as fillings, just vegetables, the beans and rice were put on the side. The bean and cheese nachos I ordered ended up being beef and cheese nachos, and being a vegetarian, that meant they ended up in the trash. I ordered two types of tacos. They were not great, but I managed to eat them. The shredded pork taco was tender but unseasoned and lukewarm. The chicken taco was hot but just mediocre. My sister got the taco salad, and it was truly disgusting. The taco shell was overcooked, so we sent it back for a replacement. While the new shell was decent, the taco meat inside resembled mush—it looked like dog food and tasted awful. She couldn't eat any of it, and the bartender kindly removed it from the bill as well. Having spent my life working as a chef in the food industry, I would never dream of serving food that falls below these standards. Mango's deserves less than one star.

In town with friends to do a little shopping on the one day all but two restaurants close down! Never feeling sad about choosing Mexican in any form, we all opted for Mangos. The service was excellent. I'll make a note here to say they have an option to add a round of drinks for the kitchen staff to your tab and I love that they do that!! I sure was excited about the Margaritas we ordered a pitcher but alas, they weren't so good. Too sweet, no lime, felt like a fluorescent colored mix and not a very good one. Very nice nice Mexican restaurant located in downtown Alpena. This business has the typical selections you expect to see at a sit down Mexican restaurant where the food and the ingredients are fresh and the dishes well made and very tasty. For my entree I had the Burrito Azteca that had chorizo, carnita's, grilled onions, topped with red, green and white sauce and garnished sour cream and avocado. Very very tasty. The burrito was accompanied by Mexican rice and beans that were equally well made and tasty. the true testament of how good this dish was is that I cleaned my plate which I normally dont do and usually have food left over on my plate. the meal was accompanied by gratis house chips...
