"I had the worst meal ever at Mesquite. The pork chop was tough, and the baked potato looked and tasted like it had been cooked the day before. The butter, sour cream, and cheese were melted together with the hot food, creating a soupy mess. The salad was wilted and brown. Since it was takeout, they forgot our dessert, so I had to make a trip back into town to pick it up. I really wish I hadn't bothered, as the bread pudding was the worst I've ever had. I'm very disappointed because we usually enjoy the food here."

I don’t know what it is, but the ribeye here is far superior to the Mineral Wells location. It’s a dead ringer every time!

This is a well established restaurant with a diverse menu! I love their ribeye steaks and fried mushrooms. Very reasonably priced and great people!

Both Texas BBQ and steakhouse choices. Little old school but it has been there for 30+ years according to the sign. Food good. Service good. Very good option. View menu

Mesquite Pit has the best steak in Texas. We drive about 1-2 hours, depending on which location we go to, just to enjoy their delicious meat, which is always cooked to perfection.

The last few times we have been here, it was just average. The sliced brisket has no flavor, the coleslaw was good, and the ranch is tasty but the lettuce in the salad was wilted. My husband chicken fried steak was kind of chewy. The service was good though.

Excellent BBQ spot. Love their ribs, baked potatoes, and green beans. Get the banana puddin for desert. You'll thank me later, it's so good. We usually go here just got the puddin. Parking: Plenty of space Kid-friendliness: Country atmosphere and very kid friendly Wheelchair accessibility: Front door access with ramps View menu

Wow this place is great. From the warm welcome coming in, to speed and friendliness of service, decor, and the food…I’m picky and this place knocked it out the park. I got the BBQ ribs which were exceptional- maybe the best ribs I’ve ever had, great Smokey flavor and bbq sauce. And our server Ava was very attentive and had great recommendations. Garlic mashed potatoes for the win. In Weatherford.

Today, my friend and I drove to Weatherford to buy some peaches, since peach season is almost over. On the way back we stopped at Mesquite Pit BBQ. My friend had a chopped beef plate, I had a sliced beef plate. Everything was wonderful! We talked about it on the way home and discussed the fact that it was the best barbecue either of us had ever eaten. It was our first visit there, but it will not be our last. It was well worth the drive from Fort Worth.

"This restaurant is not the place for a Texas steak. I did some research for a nearby steakhouse while traveling, and this place was rated pretty good for steak and BBQ. We had dinner on a Wednesday night at 7:30. The waitress was friendly, but seemed overworked. She could have been more attentive, especially when larger tables came in after us. I ordered a ¾ inch Ribeye cooked medium, but it was closer to medium rare. I asked for a rib end and the most aged cut available, but received the mid-section without the fat cap. Some parts of the steak were tender, while others were tough and sinewy. The meat had a livery mineral taste, indicating the animal may have been stressed or not bled properly at slaughter. The overall flavor was not the best, and it was clear that the meat was not grass-fed. The grilled vegetable skewers looked nice but were undercooked and lacked seasoning. The house salad was past its prime, with soft grape tomatoes and store-bought blue cheese. The salmon entree was tasty and properly grilled. We received an excessive amount of bread, as the waitress kept bringing out baskets without considering our needs. Our drinks were not refilled promptly, and we had to ask for service from the manager once larger tables were taken care of. We felt rushed and neglected throughout our meal. By 8:30, they were turning away customers, which was disappointing. We were hoping for a quality Texas beef experience, but unfortunately, we did not find it here."
