"so disappointed. my family was visiting in the city and I made a reservation for Christmas dinner in one of my favorite restaurants with high expectations. I have specifically asked a table in the fireplace room that was specified on my reservation and we are not sitting there. the evening meal of my brother was forgotten and he had to sit and watch all eat while his dinner arrived after the table was finished. the at least what could have been done would have been to compose his food and pack it for him as they were willing to pay the review at this point. Instead, they brought 2 desserts that no one wanted and extended what was already a disappointing experience. not what I expected from what was one of my visit to local restaurants."

Excellent service and food was delicious..we thoroughly enjoyed myhusband's birthday celebration. Metro is a wonderful neighborhood place. Our server was terrific very personable and efficient.

This was our first time here after hearing good things. We ordered two entrees and both were very good and creatively presented. We also had two deserts; also very good. While the ambiance is nice, the noise level/acoustics was a bit problematic. I don't like having to raise my voice significantly for a conversation. we are frequent diners in the metro. we enjoy the atmosphere in the restaurant. and that eating is consistently good. we sung there on holy night. our hostess was very friendly and our waitress was very nice and very attentive. the food arrived in time. both I and my man had the chopped salate and the lamb apron, which were prepared beautifully and we ended with asphalt for dessert. the fireplace room was full of diners, so it was a nice festive atmosphere. Food was not exceptional. One crab cake. Overly salty slaw, almost inedible. Fish a bit overdone, potatoes cold. Pasta dish hot, so my plate waited. Another diner ordered a medium steak and it quite well done, no pink. He asked for it taken off bill. Schnitzel was overcooked and quite small. Dessert was forgettable. Like the dining room. Wait staff never showed to clean our table so I did, then needed a new napkin. Overall, I wouldn’t return. Staff needs more training at these prices, chef and staff need to up their game. Many better restaurants in lamorinda.

initially with 1 clock, reservation after kamin room, we were told that these tables were all filled earlier. (if there is a reservation of 1 p.m, it should find out how to do this.) we have only waited 15 minutes. all hot was preboiled and heated. the crab in the crab salad was not fresh before it was frozen. the rolls were cooked in very old olive oil. the chicken salad was above all the potato cake under the salmon was gummy probably due to the fact that they were cooked before the hand and microwave. in the last days, eating here was o.k, but something happened.
