"Normally, we love MT Jack's. However, on 2/23/24, there were issues. We sat down and my wife's napkin had something on it that looked like something from someone's nose, or a piece of dried glue. My napkin had a brown stain on it. Waiter replaced napkins, but not the silverware on them. My wife asked about the tri-tips advertised out front. Was told they were part of the catering menu, but waiter suggested prime rib or another steak. He admitted the prime rib will be medium well as they all come out like that. Wife took a chance and had a tough piece of meat. She inquired further with the waiter as to why they couldn't be cooked shorter, and he said a large roast is cooked to a certain temp earlier in the day and that's how they do it. Don't get the prime rib anymore ?. I had a Philly Cheesesteak served with American cheese that was not good. Found out too late I could have chosen another cheese. Also, drinks were not cold despite having ice. Chicken tenders were good. Quality here has gone down. Not a good 81 dollars spent."

Why offer crispy bacon as an option if all you are going to do is serve me cold floppy bacon that was left over from the morning breakfast when I come pick it up. Same thing happened last time I ordered. 6 months later, still the same. The audacity to charge almost 20 dollars for breakfast food and then serve that is wild. I won't be back

Updating my review to include text because the owners are ballers:Montana Jack's is one of the last bastions of American dinery in Billings without inflated California prices. All of the food is on point, from the breakfast to the burgers to the steaks. They also frequently have events with specialty buffets or discount prices that are actually good and worth it.
