"We just left Moonies and are floored by what happened! We went with a group of seven people for dinner and we were having a great time! The waitress showed up with 7 shots and we all looked at each other with question! None of us had ordered the shots and we asked the waitress probably 15 times where they came from? She continued to play coy and would not tell us who sent them? When we got our bills, ours was $119.00? WOW! For a BLT, Hangover Burger, 4 beers and 2 mixed drinks? I inquired about our tab and was told my husband…who NEVER…EVER does shots ordered Nipples for the table? He never ordered them! I really believe this is a scam for the bar to make money! The manager reviewed the tape and said that my husband hand made a gesture of rounding? The only gesture was when he pointed to himself and me for the tab. The manager actually flipped my husband off when he asked if there was audio to actually HEAR what was said! We will NEVER…EVER,,,go back! We pay our bills and we tip well! Their loss!"

Best burgers and sunset on Grand Lake and they support live music.

Great food, great live music on the outdoor patio, and yet another stunning Oklahoma sunset. Celebrated wife's 40th anniversary of her 29th birthday.

Let me begin with the positives: the outdoor area is really nice. Unfortunately, the negatives far outweigh the good. The food and customer service were likely the worst I've ever experienced! We were a party of six, and not a single person from our group plans to return.

5 Star Lake fare. New chef delivers hot off the grill, 5 napkin angus burger worthy of destroying bikini goals for the lake. Ordered mine “medium rare”, and although it came out properly well done, I could not complain because it was so delicious! By boat, ATV, or automobile…get here for some delicious bar food with a view. View menu

Stopped by and have eaten here twice in the last month, and both times, I was not impressed with the food. Menu items seem pretty simple and easy to cook, but food has been lacking in all areas. Overcooked, greasy, underseasoned, missing items. Then, to top it off, the service is underwhelming. Either the place is understaffed or staff just don't care. Unless I'm hard up for a place to eat on Grand Lake, I will probably be skipping this place next time I'm out there.

The service was horrible. We had 4 or 5 different waitress none of them knowing what the other s had or hadn't done. Had to wait fir a long time just to get a menu. And than waited over 2 hours to get the food. Which was excellent. Some of the waitresses had bad attitudes when u asked for something. I get they were busy. But when someone at the same table put their order in at the same time and they got their food at least 30 minutes before we get an appetizer and when asked about that well it takes longer for fried food.lol the lady had some French fries so I guess they don't fry those. Just glad the food was food

"Hubby made reservations midweek for Friday. He said even then there was not a lot of choice. This place is always busy. Well, it is tiny. Having been there before I thought the owner seemed a little off upon arrival. Not the kind, caring, friendly gent I remembered. The main dining room was packed. We were seated in the walk through room all traffic from kitchen, arrivals and bar passes through here. But we could not be seated until the owner pulled the table out of the corner, away from the wall. Thank god I 'm small as even I could barely squeeze in. A kid (young boy) delivered the crackers and cheese dip. Really good. But he tried to take it away before we were finished. He confided in me he 'd been working there 3 weeks. Our waitress feigned friendliness. (I overheard her complaining to the barmaid) Nor was she happy when I inquired about the cracker crusted shrimp. I was torn between that entree and grilled shrimp. She pushed in that direction however. Then I asked if anything was included with the entrées as the menu doesn 't say so and neither did she. She did, however, offer us tabouli and cabbage rolls left over from the night before. Leftovers? Ah, no. Since we 'd read reviews while driving we knew we wanted the blue cheese salad. Everything about it was wonderful. The almond slivers on the cucumber, the abundance of blue cheese. (Debra K. mentioned the toasted almonds. Ours were not) But here came the waitress and busser with our entrées before I could finish it. I hate that more than anything! They call this fine dining? I surrendered my salad. Their whole fried potatoes are unique and tasty. Hubby enjoyed his ribeye. And the rolls, until the kid, again, tried to take them away. Quit taking our food, I teased. They tuck a packet of roasted garlic in every 2 roll basket which is nice. I had to flag the waitress down to order a second glasss of wine. Love the art on the walls and actually recognized a couple local artists. I 'd had enough blue cheese, I wasn 't allowed a second to rest between courses and only ate a couple Ritz coated shrimp. And that yummy potato. FYI: the cocktail sauce is better w/ the fried shrimp than the tartar. Toward the end, the wife owner was waiting 2 tables beside us. I know because I heard her say I cooked for you . She seemed sweet and made all the dishes sound delicious. I think some of us feel let down by The Artichoke because we remember the hype from back when. And it was better when patronized before. And they call it fine dining which it isn 't. It has so much going for it the setting, the quaintness, chef owned, a controlled menu, herbs and produce nearby I recall from before I 'd love to see it better. And it could be. Start with staff training."
